Former head of EA Mobile slams EA's "bankrupt" strategy Stuck
Posted on January 15, 2010 at 12:30 PM.
Former head of EA Mobile and founder of Jamdat, Mitch Lasky, absolutely slammed EA and it's leadership on his personal blog this week. Lasky criticizes the business model of EA Sports saying the company has been slow to switch to a digital subscription/variable pricing model and has entered into costly and unprofitable licensing deals.

Quote:
It's remarkably hard to kill a company doing $4 billion in revenues. But with flat or down stock performance since Q3 2003, how long are the institutional investors going to continue to hope against hope for a turn-around?
Lasky, interestingly enough, jumps aboard the EA buyout bandwagon during the blog post as well. As with any former disgruntled employee blog, you have to take his comments with that perspective in mind. However, Lasky does bring up some important points about EA's future and a lot of it has to be keeping many at the top of the company awake at night.

Wow, that was a very interesting lead. Lasky seems like a pretty sharp mind. Things really aren't looking too rosy for EA right now.

There was a news story where Peter Moore said he wanted to look at lower pricing models with monthly fees, and this was with relation to Madden. I said this a couple of weeks ago, but I firmly believe this is where he wants to take EA Sports gaming. We'll probably get a taste of it when they have locked down all of the sports genres.
