EA cuts fiscal 2010 forecast significantly Stuck

Certainly not good news for the Video Game giant:

	EA forecast that earnings, excluding items, for the year ending March 31 would be 40 cents to 55 cents a share on non-GAAP revenue of $4.125 billion to $4.2 billion. It previously forecast earnings of 70 cents to $1 a share on revenue of $4.2 billion to $4.4 billion.

EA definitely is suffering from bad sales, with reports that several of it's AAA titles have missed sales forecasts, including Madden. This is just another negative news item in a long line of negative news items for EA during this recession. EA's stock (ticker symbol: ERTS) is down over 10% in after hours trading as of this writing.

Of course, this could make EA a much more affordable target for Disney as well. As always, we'll be on top of things as time goes on.

Cant neccessarily say that this is a shocker..i think its part recession and part EA for resting on their laurels and not trying to push a new an innovative improvement of games each year especially Madden and NCaa wise..Like I have stated before this is the first year where people I know have rented and skipped on both football and basketball games while in the past it would have been a first day must buy..While I think Madden improved leaps and bounds over previous editions..that really isnt a accomplishment in light of the fact that previous Maddens were just flat out terrible..NCAA was just horrid and you can se that there was no resources being put into that game..when u go years of doing this people eventually get fed up and start making choices rather than relying on brand name and buying right off the bat..To me NHL and Fifa are the mainstays and new flagships in the EASports portfolio..I wish Madden and NCAA would make as much drastic improvement as those games and we probably wont be having this discussion...
