Let's take a look:
- Either MLB '09: The Show, NBA 2K10 or NHL 10 will be huge disappointments this next year. The solid trio we could count on will be no more after this year.
Depending on who you ask, there were some serious detractors to NBA 2K10. While the game, in my opinion was very good, you can still say it was a slight disappointment. But alas, I'm doing this with honor and I thought one might just be a huge disaster, which wasn't the case. Miss.
- Both fighting games (UFC and Fight Night) will be contenders for game of the year.
While neither game ultimately got consideration thanks to MLB '09: The Shows dominance in the voting, they both were among the best games in our genre in 2009. In fact, UFC was a genuine rookie phenom. I'm counting this as a half win.
- EA and Take Two will BOTH have bids to buy them out this year, one of them will actually do it.
With both companies going through multiple buyout rumors from several angles this year, I can honestly say I came close but we don't count close. Nonetheless, I got the first part right, as there was interest at some point for each but I didn't get the second. I guess I get another half W.
- Madden will finally get online franchise and NCAA will get a new feature we've all been clamoring for. In fact, one of these two games will actually be received favorably by the OS crowd this year, even the group that has sworn off EA Football.
I wrote this originally before this was announced obviously, and I'd have to say this was a really good pick. While some might say it was obvious, I still stuck my neck out on this one. While Madden did convert some fans, it didn't win over everyone as well. Nonetheless, to protect my hurting ego, I'm giving myself a win here.
- The Wii will get several really good sports games this year.
The Bigs 2, Tiger Woods 10, Madden, Wii Sports Resort and Shaun White Snowboarding...to name a few. Win.
- PC Sports Gaming will officially be called a dead platform, despite all of the modding communities keeping titles such as Madden alive (not to mention the text-simmers).
Man, I sure did miss this with all of these awesome PC games and text-sims that have been reviewed this year at....oh wait. Yeah, it's hard to say what officially called entails so I might as well say it: PC sports gaming is officially dead. Is that rigging the game? Maybe....but the truth hurts. The PC Market was worse than usual this year.
- Sports gamers will be very excited by at least one surprise game announcement for this year.
Folks are getting genuinely excited about EA Sports MMA, which is indeed a new game. While some are scoffing at the idea, it is at best a mixed reaction. But I still count this as a win.

NBA2K10, a slight disappointment? Didnt't the game win like 3 awards on OS??? I obviously disagree with you on this one, this is the best basketball game put out in YEARS!

Not too shabby.
I will predict that the over-hype for Backbreaker is much like it was for APF, and that it is NOT EA or Madden.

PC sports gaming is dead? Seems like every time the PC version of NBA gets mentioned on this site there for 4-5 posts from different people wishing they had the PC version for the patches. Nevermind that most of the baseball fans here are well aware of mvpmods and the patches that are there.
Just because this website doesn't have, and never had a PC following doesn't mean PC sports gaming is dead.
