NCAA Football 10 (Blog #2): Flexbone Impressions Stuck
Posted on July 7, 2009 at 11:48 PM.
What in the world? I picked the wrong year (last year) to play as Georgia Tech!

Many have asked about the Flexbone and I figured it was worth a blog all it's own. The Flexbone this year has undergone many changes, including eight new formations and much more accurate plays within.

I'm personally a huge fan of the changes, as the game now accurately represents the Flexbone offense. Plays such as the QB Iso, Wing Reverses, FB Dives, Options, and play action passes are handled much better. Another thing I really loved was running behind the dual tackles formation.

So for those wondering: YES! The Flexbone rocks. If it wasn't for me playing with Florida's equally awesome playbook, I might be switching.

If you say the game is actually fun, then I might actually want to get this.

Awesome, I am wondering if they run any wildcat plays also. It would be great to have two special formations like that.

The more I play the demo, the more I want this game. Last night, I played 4 straight with OU and I seen things I hadn't even seen in previous plays of the demo and I play the demo quite often. This game is mad fun, just like Madden 09 was for me. I can't wait to get to go hard with the new features and dynasty mode on the retail version.

MMChriss - Is there still a bit of that "suction blocking" that seems to be apparent in the demo? It's not as bad as in the past but it still happens sometimes. And which version are you playing? PS3 or 360? Does the game look sharper than the demo? The PS3 demo isn't as sharp as I think it could be and I really don't know if the lighting of the demo gives it that affect or what cuz it looks much like Madden 09 but Madden 09 had more "mood lighting" than real time lighting which I know EA has said they are getting away from in Madden 10.

Keep us posted, bruh...

mwall - Well for my offense (Urban Meyer hybrid) I have found just reading the defenses keys has been paramount. Basically, I look for where the defense is stacking guys and I basically make my reads off of that. I made the unfortunate mistake of trying to read the DE on Read Plays, and it was an epic failure

cloudedskate - I think the game can be considered fun at times...but there are definitely caveats to that statement.

Chargers - I haven't seen the computer use a wildcat package, but I do know they exist because I'm using them in Florida's playbook.

TreyIM2 - Definitely still there a bit, but they have definitely improved it quite a bit. I've been able to run parallel to the LOS a few times through the action and wasn't sucked in. So I'd say it's there, but not near as bad as it has been historically.
