Bold Prediction Time: Madden NFL 10 is for real Stuck
Posted on June 5, 2009 at 01:28 AM.
As many of you guys know, I sometimes make predictions on my blog when I feel strongly about something. Here is one prediction I feel will come to pass: Madden NFL 10 will be the best football video game on this side of the turn of the millennium.

I know many hardcore 2K5ers out there will still proclaim blasphemy or worse, proclaim how pathetic it is for Madden NFL to finally be a game worth playing. While I do somewhat agree with that sentiment, it should also be noted that All Pro Football 2K8 wasn't the greatest game either. So part of the next-gen hex for Madden is probably not limited to any single company.

My judgment on this comes from looking at the same videos and digesting the same information you guys have all digested as well. This year's game just looks as if it will play much different. I'm disappointed in a few things for sure. But with yearly sports video games franchises, it's normal.

So officially count me in on the bandwagon, I'm a true believer in this year's edition. If it fails to deliver, I cannot imagine the firestorm waiting for the folks behind the Madden brand. However, I think that's not even going to be an issue when August rolls around.

What do you think? Are you a believer yet? If so why? If not, what gives you (understandably so) pause?

I believe when I play.

With all of the hype though...there will be "blood in the streets" at the OS forums, if the game is just "eh".

I agree with you

No matter how great it is Chris, somebody's gonna whine. Just look at your blog comments.

Me? I'm with ya. Madden's gonna be so fun this year. No game is perfect.

Count me as officially on the bandwagon. IMO, this game is shaping up very well and potentially could be the most fun and best football game I've played to-date, bar none; hopefully come August it can meet this lofty hope I have for it.

I think it will be better as far as features and presentation go. But until there is a real time physics system in place that will eliminate the suction effect Madden will never be great

I will admit, I too am on the bandwagon as well...but when the wagon stops and lets me off at the GameCrazy to buy Madden, I will make sure and browse OS on my phone first to check out what the true diehards here on OS are saying about the game first in the impressions threads. LOL

I'm really digging what I've seen of the game so far but I'm going to have to get my hands on a demo or the full game itself to make my own decisions. I'm still a big 2K5 player despite logging many hours into Madden and NCAA 09, so I'm not totally loyal to either camp. I'm on the fence. It seems the actual in-game product has been given a much-needed jolt of personality, which I found 09 heavily lacked. If I can spend as much time in-game as in the Franchise mode menus, I think EA did its job.

So far, though, it does look like the best Madden of this generation. Whether or not it plays like it is still up in the air.

im never sold on a game made by EA, if i could make a comparison here EA feels to me like the company Apple. EA and Apple always get all the hype with there products (iphone which cant even record a f ing video!, and nba live 09 with its DNA just as 2 examples here) while there are smaller companies who make great products but dont get the hype (NBA 2K9 realistic games you dont blow every team out by 50 pts, every cell phone can record video! its been standard for many years) but when the next iphone or the next ea game comes even after its last failures gets the same hype (new iphone gets video recording fan boys all over that one, Madden 2010 making presentation nicer ex: halftime shows, pre game, post game, NFL 2K5 did that 5 yrs ago 40 bucks cheaper) the thing i see here is that both Apple and EA reinvent the wheel and people pay for the hyped up new product or they could go pay less for the same stuff from another less hyped but still quality company, but people dont do that. almost everything these 2 companies do someone else already did and prolly did better.

*****im am not a apple ***** i have a ipod touch and i have had ipods for many years, i am not a EA ***** i love there hockey games and i still love MVP Baseball 2005, Madden i always shell out my 60 bucks and every year after a little while of playing its on my shelf and i dont touch it because i have the same exact thing in Madden 08 wit outdated rosters, if i care that much bout rosters i can do it myself! im just skeptical bout EA now, i am also not a 2K fan boy there hockey games suck there baseball games suck MLB 09 the show!!!!! crap load better

Just my 2 cents didnt mean to affend any1 or start a fight

Every madden is going to be better than the last version..no question, but there's always something wrong. Overall, hell yeah it looks great, but no judgement until it comes out. I just want the recievers to look at the damn ball during the snap...major pet peeve since I first got madden..let's fix that EA..you are all about realism, so let's make that REAL

This year the developers are actually reaching out to the community and in a way we are also shaping this years Madden so if it does suck...I'll feel partly responsible.
