NCAA 20 Team Sim: Onto the Quarters! Stuck
Posted on February 4, 2013 at 04:43 PM.

Our highly hypothetical, completely fictional, and just for fun 20 team playoff to determine a National Champion digitally in FBS football continues with our NCAA Football 13 simulation! We're now onto the quarterfinals as the final four games of the second round were simulated this morning! Let's get to the results!

Florida State at LSU

LSU's offense sputtered the entire game, as Florida State built a 17-0 lead at halftime with the help of good field position from LSU turnovers. EJ Manual threw for two touchdown passes and almost ran for a third but it was called back and the Seminoles had to settle for a field goal to close out the first half. LSU's offense couldn't muster anything the entire game as Florida State held the Tigers to 164 total yards. Florida State added a touchdown early in the fourth and played ball control the entire second half. 24-6 Seminoles.

Georgia at Kansas State

Collin Kleinis down, Collin Klein is down! Disaster struck Kansas State early in the first quarter as Collin Klein was taken out of the game with a knee injury. This allowed Georgia's defense to fully dominate Kansas State's offense the rest of the game. Kansas State's defense kept things close, as Aaron Murray was picked off late in the first half to set up a short drive and touchdown for Kansas State to make it 7-7 at the half. However, Georgia opened up the second half with a safety after Kansas State was driven backwards to open the half. Murray then tossed a 31 yard touchdown pass to Marlon Brown to make it 16-7. Two fourth quarter field goals gave the Bulldogs all they needed for a comfortable win. 22-7 Georgia.

UCLA at Texas A&M

UCLA came into this game (in my mind) a heavy underdog against Johnny Football and company from Texas A&M. However, it was UCLA and tailback Jonathan Franklin who struck first with a 85 yard drive, of which Franklin rushed for 60 yards of it. Johnny Football answered and both teams were in a back and forth tussle through a half, A&M held a narrow 10-7 lead. UCLA once again struck first in the second half with an 88 yard touchdown pass from Brett Hundley to Jerry Johnson to make it 14-10. UCLA then added a field goal after holding A&M to three and out to make it 17-10 at the end of the third quarter. Enter Johnny Manziel. The Aggies then went on a spree. Manziel struck with a 20 yard touchdown run to open the third to tie the game, then threw for another touchdown to Ryan Swope. UCLA was preparing to drive late in the fourth to attempt to tie it up, but Hundley was picked off deep in his own territory. Manziel ran in from eight yards out four plays later to give the Aggies a comfortable lead as time ran down. 31-17 Aggies.

South Carolina at Stanford

To close out the second round, in the 'didn't see that result coming' category, the Stanford Cardinal dominated South Carolina. Stanford outgained Carolina 453 to 195 while Josh Nunes threw for 283 yards as they built a 21-0 halftime lead. Stanford advances comfortably to the next round. 35-3 Cardinal

Who do you have winning the quarterfinal matchups?

Yeah sure Boise beats Florida and FSU beats LSU. I hope no one reads this stupidity

@Gronk

I guess you didn't read this part "Our highly hypothetical, completely fictional, and just for fun 20 team playoff".

But you would be out of your mind if you think Florida and LSU couldn't get beat by two teams that have better and more balance offenses than them and I'm a Gator fan.

Louisville showed the nation Florida wasn't ready for a Title Shot or for the Top 10 we had a tough schedule but to be honest the fillers helped us look good even when we BARELY beat them. LSU had one GREAT game against Bama (and that's because Les Miles knows Bama better than anyone in the SEC does) to play against a team like FSU they would need to keep scoring something they struggle to do in REAL LIFE...smh....

South Carolina would not have lost 35-3. They would put up much more than 3.

I think you guys might've missed where NCAA Football 13 is simulating this bracket?

I get that it's a simulating, but it just shows how overrated Stanford is on the game.
