Spring Training Games Start Today...It's Baseball Time!
Posted on February 25, 2009 at 02:48 PM.

Last year, I thought MLB '08: The Show was one of the best games of the year and this year's edition could be even better.
Major League Baseball 2K9 looks like it has undergone a massive improvement thanks to what could be the best sports gaming development studio -- Visual Concepts -- efforts.
As for my thoughts on my teams this year, I'm personally thinking that the Rangers could be contenders in the west if the pitching is improved any, which would be a pure individual effort and not because of any offseason moves. The other half of my love, the Yankees, are in the discussion as a World Champion type of team...I wonder why?
So what are your general thoughts about this baseball season, real or digital? I'm fired up, I'm sure lots of you are as well!

I've never been THIS excited about baseball. Both real life and video games. I'm a full-blown baseball fan now, thanks to great gaming!!!! (The Show AND 2K)
I just wish football were in as good a shape as baseball when it comes to games.

seems to be the annual line for the Rangers. "I think they can be good if they get decent pitching." and yet, they never do.
The A's are going to be interesting. IMO them getting Holliday has been one of the most underrated stories of this offseason. Too much nonsense about Yankees getting ridiculous contracts, taking steroids and apparently getting pregnant, not enough about one of the best young hitters in the game getting traded. Call it a hunch, but I bet Giambi has a huge year as well.
Otherwise, I think my Mets should be good. They had the best record after 6 innings in baseball, and hopefully have done a lot to fix a broken bullpen with K-Rod and Putz. Hopefully they save a little for September this year.
