What kind of a week has Josh Hamilton had? Absurd perhaps? Stuck
Posted on May 12, 2012 at 06:54 PM.

9 Home runs. 15 RBIs. 12 Hits.

An incredible month week for Josh Hamilton which included his four home run performance against the Orioles on Tuesday.

I just wish the stats in MLB: The Show were realistic. There's no way a player can have that sort of a week.

Wait...what?!

In today's broadcast, Fox Sports showed a statistical comparison between Hamilton vs. the middle of the Angels lineup.

Hamilton has outhit them all combined thus far.

So it's a fast start for Hamilton without a doubt. But will it last?

Currently Hamilton is hitting homers at a faster pace than Barry Bonds in 2001. He's having that kind of a season thus far.

So let's hear your thoughts. What kind of a season will Hamilton end up with after this fast start?

First off, I want to say that I don't believe Hamilton has anything to prove.

That said, I believe he's playing with the mind set "I have to prove that the relapse was a one-time incident and that baseball is the only thing on my mind".

I'm willing to go out on a limb and throw out this kind of final regular season stat line for Hamilton, because I do believe he does have the talent, it's just very unlikely that it happens.

Josh Hamilton: 75 Home Runs, 225 hits, .410 BA, 160 RBI

I always used my own stat, not counting 12 games for "rest" or a minor injury so if I had him playing every single game from here on out, you could add a few more Home Runs, Hits etc.

He has the talent to challenge for the HR record and could make a deep September run at the .400 mark. Many believed him to be the most talented HS player they'd ever seen when he was drafted. Is that talent finally coming together in one historical, injury-free season? Unlikely, but I'm pulling for the guy.

I think he wins the Triple Crown with a 54 HR, 167 RBI, and .387 line.

The most I've ever done in MLB Bobblehead Pros is 3 home runs in one game with a couple of players (Corey Hart, Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder).

So Hamilton's 4 home runs in one game is actually beyond my video game ability.

Dating back to 5/2/12

Josh Hamilton: 15 hits, 9 HR, 16 RBI
Carlos Beltran: 16 hits, 8 HR, 21 RBI

Maybe it's not that rare at all... or else Beltran is just able to fly under the radar.

So you're comparing them for the month, which Hamilton missed the first two games, when the thread says "What kind of week has Josh Hamilton had?".

We'll compare Josh Hamilton's Week to Beltran's 2-Weeks.

You can compare Beltran back to the 2nd, which is 11 games.. and compare Hamilton's week:

Josh Hamilton's Week (7 games): 14 hits, 9 HRs, 18 RBIs
Carlos Beltran's 2-Weeks (12 games): 16 hits, 8 HRs, 21 RBIs

*Did mean to write the same thing twice there in the middle, and Beltran's is 12 games, not 11.

Wish the Rays could have held on to him long enough to get his stuff together....*sigh*
