Florida State Board of Trustees Chairman Would Welcome Big XII Talks Stuck

As I wrote about on Thursday, the realignment mill in college football has begun to spin again and the usual suspects (the Big 12) are in the middle of it.

Except this time the Big XII is on the offensive.

In an interview with Warchant.com, the Chairman of the Florida State Board of Trustees Andy Haggard told the site that not only is the board interested in hearing what the Big XII has to offer, they recognize the school could be in a bad position remaining in the ACC.

	"How do you not look into that option," asked Haggard. "On behalf of the Board of Trustees I can say that unanimously we would be in favor of seeing what the Big 12 might have to offer. We have to do what is in Florida State's best interest." "With the SEC making the kind of money it does it's time to act," said Haggard. "You can't sit back and be content in the ACC. This is a different time financially. This isn't 10-15 years ago when money was rolling in."

Dan Wetzel tweeted this -- which is consistent what everyone is saying about the conference's intentions in regard to FSU, "Big 12 source on whether league would be interested in Florida State. "I can't imagine how we wouldn't be interested in Florida State."

Now that it appears the AQ's to the BCS are gone, the Big East and ACC are going to have a LOT of problems. Wouldn't be shocked if the Big East (West) or several ACC schools start defecting to the Big 10 (+2) /Big 12 (-2) or SEC.

Also, shocked no one has tried to pick up teams from the MAC yet; some decent teams in that group...

That new ESPN deal is an absolute joke unless you live and die by b-ball on Tobacco Road. It's an insulting slap in the face to football schools that actually helped the ACC get AQ status in the first place. I'm glad our BOT Chair spoke out. Can't wait to leave the ACC.
