Bobby Petrino Fired -- Will Arkansas be better or worse in three years?
Posted on April 11, 2012 at 01:12 AM.
Bobby Petrino has been fired as the University of Arkansas football coach.
Now the search begins for a new head coach for the program. But let's get your take, do you think Arkansas will be in a better or worse position (or even comparable) as they are right now in three years?

Depends on who the hire is. Hard to say right now, but there's a few coaches I'd say could keep the program equal

I agree with scotty. The program is in much better shape than when he took it. It is an attractive job for a good coach. With the right coach this can continue. It's not like Arkansas has no football history or tradition. Some are just too young to remember. They were a national power in the 60's and 70's. and pretty close in the 80's. The move to the SEC happened at a low point in the program. Houston Nutt help at first but, he almost did to ARk what he has done at Ole Miss. Ark can continue being a national power.

As of now, Arkansas will return to the middle of the pack in the SEC w/o Petrino being there. He was really under rated as far as a recruiter. Arkansas will no longer be able to gather the talent they have in the past 4 yrs.

Petrino will be in the NFL by this upcoming season as a QB's Coach, Jerruh Jones loves the Arkansas FBall Program, look for Petrino to be in Big D by
August.
August.

We will be fine. Bobby laid the groundwork and Jeff long is an incredible AD. Very few recruits have even been effected negatively and a couple of four star prospects are even considering us now. Any coach would want a gig in the powerhouse SEC west. In Arkansas all we have is our Razorbacks. I think the U is better off and we will still be a top 25 program moving forward

If having a football program and school with integrity is part of that definition, they will be much better off. Petrino is a slime-ball, much like Saban and Meyer.
If it's stricly wins and losses - there is zero percent chance they will see the type of success they have recently. The SEC is absolutely brutal and Petrino was overachieving at Arkansas. He was a perfect fit for taking that football team to new heights. Now hes out a job and 18 million bucks in future contract money.
This whole thing was a loss for everyone - except the other SEC schools.
