OOTP 9 Shines Even Brighter Today Stuck

After what has been a rather disappointing reaction from gamers and critics alike, MLB Front Office Manager is quickly descending into disappointment category before I even get to sink my paws deep into the game.

I do know one thing, this game is no Out of the Park Baseball. It might even be on the same level as Baseball Mogul. Actually, it isn't, not even close.

EA's first attempt into the console text-sim genre was a colossal failure before they succeeded (at least in OSers eyes) with this past year's Head Coach. Could 2K be on the same path with Front Office Manager?

Some people would still argue Front Office Football is still the better game in comparison to Head Coach. So the true question is: why are companies with billions of dollars and several guys developing games having trouble passing up these one or two man acts?

That's a question to ponder today.

Diamond Mind Baseball has been my fav text based game for just over a decade. Tons of fun, lots of free leagues to play in with different styles, and the ability to play H2H and also play pitch-by-pitch or with generated pitching counts.

I had some semi interest in the 2k game....but saw that once there was no really info on it all the way up to release I knew it would fall way short.

Text based baseball is very satisfying to play. Bust most that want a consul game wants the graphics. I think your better off managing in The Show.

DMB makes me baselbal crazy all year round!

Looking forward to the Show 09, but i think the market for a game that 2k came up with is too slim to make one of high quality.
