Sunday Speculation: Fight Night Round 4 Stuck
Posted on December 14, 2008 at 12:27 PM.
Peter Moore is promising something never before seen in a video game with Fight Night Round 4's reveal tonight on the Spike VGAs.

I have been reading some speculation but I figured I'd share some of the more popular ideas of what it could be thus far.

  • An Online Boxing Federation Mode.
  • Advanced collision detection beyond what we've ever seen thus far in a video game.
  • Tyson vs. Ali - for the first time ever.
There is definitely a buzz around this product...What other possibilities do you see it as being? Furthermore, who will win some of the VGAs tonight?

I am really hoping for a deep online career mode.

Although, I would prefer the Spectator mode to watch other people's fights, something not seen in other sports games that I know of.

If it is Tyson vs Ali, darn it will be pretty lame and shady advertisement from Peter Moore.

I agree - if its simply the ability to fight with Tyson and Ali, that's lame because frankly we've known that for a while.

I'm really hoping career is revamped. I think presentation would be a very quite/easy fix, just add in ring entrances and the ability to custom them back in and I'll be happy with the presentation of the fights. I want a career that I feel like is a real career, not one mini-game and then a fight. That ish gets repetitive - I want to sign sponsorship deals, be able to train more than one time before a fight, photoshoots, talk trash - SOMETHING more than what we've had. I also think being able to watch CPU fights would be amazing.

I'm really hoping Moore comes through with this hype-up because I've been hyped for FN:R4 for a long time.

I with you guys. And Ali vs. Tyson would be a very shallow addition.

I agree with everyone hoping it's not just Ali vs. Tyson. I'm betting it'll be a pretty decent announcement actually, Moore hasn't had a huge letdown in that regard yet.

Haha...unless I missed something...the big surprise was..Ali vs Tyson...

That trailer was okay, but with Moore hyping it up beforehand I was disappointed with it.

Still..."no two fights are ever the same."

Peter Moore did a Don King move on us. We didn't nothing...all that hype for this?!?

Honestly, that was a huge letdown last night. Good....they showed a short trailer but revealed nothing...It was especially true that anything of substance was absent from the trailer. Maybe "No two fights are ever the same"?

Peter Moore, you have officially been moved off the 'listen when this guy talks about something big' bus to 'snicker when the next big thing is coming according to Peter Moore' Volkswagon Beetle. Hope it is comfy there.

gotta give Moore credit - he can get people excited. Next part is actually putting EA in a position to follow through and provide something that knocks people's socks off. Sounds like he would have been better off unveiling a Fight Night tattoo ...
