FIFA 11 Demo Impressions Stuck

The FIFA 11 Demo first up today for me, my NBA 2K11 thoughts are coming very shortly as well. I enjoyed the crap out of FIFA 10, it was my favorite sports game and actually got my Sports GOTY vote last year. So does FIFA 11 improve and keep my attention as a casual soccer fan?

Refinement, refinement, refinement. EA Canada started this trend with NHL 11 and might've perfected it with FIFA.
New passing system, I'm in favor of.
Control feels better overall.
Shooting seems much more touchy to me.
Game seems to play a little faster too.
Oh wait, they set the game speed on a higher setting by default. I didn't mind the faster speed though, but it definitely felt breakneck after playing 150+ games on FIFA 10.
Visually, the game looks MUCH better. From the lighting to different player models, it's all much improved.
New animations are very well done. Lots of good stuff in that department.
AI reacts much better, both your players and the computers. They'll chase after loose balls, and move in a much more realistic fashion. That also means you can't exploit many of the same glitches as before if you were into that sort of thing.
PKs are much different. I won with just one goal in, mostly because the computer couldn't hit sand if it fell off a camel.
Overlaying stats are in, was that in in previous editions? I was always so hooked up in the gameplay, I can't remember.
Presentation is so much better.
Oh look, a computer player just made me look silly on defense by utilizing some nice moves. I'll have to be looking out for that.
Personality+, I really think EA Canada is onto something with this feature.

Overall: This game will surpass last years effort and is actually a worthy purchase for those who bought last years. I won't recommend a purchase for peeps like that very often, but FIFA continues to be if not the best sports game on the market, at least as good as NHL, The Show, and NBA 2K.

So is the Personality+ system like the abilities system in All pro football? It sounds awesome

Blown away by the demo. I didn't expect this much improvement. FIFA World Cup South Africa was a step up from FIFA 10 & this is another step up again. The stat overlays are new for this year & a nice touch. Commentary also sounds better.
