Brad Lidge is terrible....just terrible. Who do you think could be an option for closer. Chan Ho?
Our offense is inconsistent. Yes, I said inconsistent. They can come score 10 or more runs one day, and then the next they can be shut out or be close to no hit. Several games this year they have been no hit thru 6 or more innnings
So how would you Phillies fans sum up our season???

I agree somewhat, something has to be done about Lidge. If Jamie Moyer can be demoted for his performance then why cant Lidge? I have no clue who could be used as a close though. Maybe Brett Myers if somehow he gets back.
As for the hitting being inconsistent, I am not worried about our bats, leaving RISP has to change though if we are going to repeat. Also baseball is funny like that, they say hitting a round ball with a round bat is one of the hardest things to do but sometimes you have to tip your hat to the other pitcher.

Jamie Moyer's performance partially had to do with him being demoted from the starting rotation. The main reason was that they needed a spot to fit Pedro Martinez.
Moyer will still have a couple starts down the stretch, as we will need an extra arm to start our doubleheaders.
I guess the reason that Lidge is not demoted out of the closer's role yet is because Manuel still thinks he will come around sooner rather than later.

Brad Lidge has been hit hard when he leaves his flat slider out over the plate. Charlie Manuel has said time and time again that he will be and is our closer though, so we really can't do nothing at this time. Another good option at closer besides Chan Ho Park would have to be the returning Brett Myers. He has saved 20-something games for us in the past, so you have to think if Lidge's struggles continues, Manuel will think about the possibility.
It seems like we can't get that "big hit" when we desperately need one sometimes. For instance, last night. They had a runner on 2nd base with less than two outs multiple times in that game. You commit outs in them spots instead of getting that single to Left or Right Field or that big extra base hit. They finally got that big hit when Shane Victorino hit the triple and Ben Francisco hit that double with people on base, but before this they had a lot more chances at breaking the game open against the Pirates so-so pitching staff.
