Can you really trust EA Sports?
Posted on August 31, 2012 at 12:25 AM.
I ask this question after reading this little article ( http://irbgamer.com/2012/08/confirme...-this-october/ ), which packs a punch, with news of NBA LIVE 13, being released this October, and at a possible price point of $20.
I will go on the record to state that i had a feeling EA was up to something like this awhile back and wrote about it in a previous blog.
I will state to the public, that i am not a person who counts the sales of a game to make it a "so called good GAME" to buy! It's all about the gameplay!
I would have bought NBA Delete 11 if they offered it at a discounted price of $20. just to have something to critic, and tear a part in some of my youtube videos! And guess what? i will get my wish this YEAR! lol
But, what i really want to know from the bballing community is; can you really trust anything EA Sports says about NBA LIVE franchise anymore? Maybe i haven't read everything i needed to read about what was posted about LIVEs come back to the big stag, 3 years and counting now.
Aftering reading this article, it has solidified something with me; that EA Sports devs and teams "Do Not LISTEN to THEIR COMMUNITY". The line in the article that set me off in writing this blog was, and i am Copying and pasting this word for word;

"It’s been almost 3 years since we’ve released an NBA title,” the EA rep said. The tactic is to get feedback from gamers. However, it’s a bit risky to not run it as the AAA title as the decision has been made to NOT put the game on disc.

Now, let me tell you what i read!

EA - We wasted 3 years on this 'game', and we are in the s*it! investors want their money back, and we got to break even some way some how! the whole dev team will be fired, and we should have listened to the bball community 4 years ago, after we released NBA LIVE 10!!!!

EA - Sorry for trashing all of your input 'Feedback' that the community gave us 3-4 years (building off of NBA LIVE 10); we gambled on some other ideas from people who didnt know a thing about basketball; so now, we are regathering the 'lost information' and want the community to help US get back a piece of that virtual basketball slice of pie, that 2K is hoarding.

EA - Who ever wants to play the game can download it for a mere $20. on PSN, or 1400-1800 MS points on XBL. We arent asking for MUCH; just help us keep our jobs!

read this article and tell me if you read the same thing!
btw, i do not trust a word that comes out of the NBA LIVE dev teams mouths, as it seems they have been covering up a murder since releasing info about LIVE 13 early this spring.
cheers
