Madden NFL 12; What are you really expecting..?
Posted on February 10, 2011 at 05:17 AM.
""Jon Robinson: You mentioned the tuner sets that will be in "Madden NFL 12." Can you explain how that addition will benefit gamers?

Ian Cummings: Anytime there's a bug or an exploit after launch, the majority of time you have to patch it. And doing a patch or a title update requires approvals and you need to resubmit the game. The whole process usually takes about four-to-six weeks to turnaround, from the day you make your fix to the day it gets out to consumers. But with tuner sets, it's not every little piece of code. These are small pieces of data that we are able to update in real time. We can do a little bit of testing on our end, then push it out right away. If you think about how roster updates work, that's the way a tuner set would work. Instead of waiting on the turnaround of the approvals, we can apply the fix right away. If there's any type of problem where there are too many fumbles or the offensive line isn't blocking right, tuner sets are perfect because you can make the change, get it in the game in a couple of days, and then gauge the reaction from that and make changes accordingly. It really allows you to go back and forth with the community and make the game better for everyone.""

Now, after reading this crap...! Am i supposed to be getting excited for Madden12; because they are putting in Onside kicks? And adding some tuner sets. look pass the dribble people. Tuner sets are nothing big and huge; they have been around for the last two years, at EA Sports. People need to learn how to look past the garbage and see what they really are doing with the madden franchise.
Let me tell you; it doesn't look great. Let's start looking under the hood; well, well, well, it looks like the same game engine. So what does that really mean! Your getting the same graphics as previous years, the same gameplay as recent years, the same morphing, bugs and glitches; all bundled up neat and packaged for the next sucker to buy for $60 bucks. Oh; might i add, they may throw in some "3D", and some KINECT into Madden12. Oh i can't wait to be pissed off that my Kinect sensor is so laggy, i can't make the precise cutback with my tailback (DARN it). Gimmicks, gimmicks, and more gimmicks; oh, sorry let me be more politically correct; feature, features and tones more features like onside kicks..! Who are EA Sports really selling these game to..? I can tell you, it's not the Hardcore gamer, that helped put Madden on the map! Nope, it's for little Bobby, and Jacob, that really don't know about football and want to learn in a video game, instead of going outside and playing it for real on a field.
Madden11 was the final straw that broke the camels back. It lacked soo much of everything for a video game on the next gen console. " i made this statement, because of some really great games that have been played on the Next-gen consoles; and alot of them are in their second and third year of construction ". We are now entering year "7", seven of Madden on the next-gen; and i can't believe how much fun i have playing Madden 2005 on the PS2, and NFL 2K5...! Is there, or should there be something wrong with that? I can give it to EA Sports and there rendition of Madden 2006, 2007, 2008; were all about the Next-gen "hype", so i thought i was getting a great game; "At that Time". Little did i understand, about glitches, major bugs, and fixes, that plagued these games. Well let me tell you; that crap doesn't fly with me no more; so that's why i think EA is doesn't want to cater to my HARDCORE needs; because i am now educated "just a little bit"; and would give EA Sports an ear full, if they, kept serving me that slop they called football back in 2006 - 2008.
The engine on this game is tweaked out to the max; it's time for something new! You've had since 2008 to start something new, and you haven't done a darn thing about; and now you want US, sorry me, to get all excited like a little boy about to kiss a girl for the first time..? and most of us know how that really went.
EA, it's time for a change. If i see that same running animation, and morphed broken tackles, dudes falling down for no reason ever again; i'll just rent your game instead of buying it; hey, it's football, and i need my football gaming fix.
Cheers

i don't think of hardcore madden fans as fair weather, seeing as how they have been waiting almost 7 yrs to get things right. u seem to happy with mediocre and more power to u, but people want more and see thru the smoke screen that ea is putting up.

if anything u sound like that abused wife that keeps going back to her hubby, cause she loves him and that's all she knows. you'll be dead in a couple of months.

the community sees thru their practices and stuff. if the engine is so flawed how can we expect them to make the changes we have been asking for since last gen. u might be happy getting spoon fed food u ate 7 yrs ago, but i want that food and some new choices as well.

maddden fans are not fairweather, cultish yes, fair weather no.
