As gamers, which are you more interested in?

Electronic Arts and the Need for Speed series is coming out with their 18th installment...yes 18th. This game, titled Need for Speed: The Run, is a high octane racing game. You have to race for San Francisco across the country to New York. The cops are chasing you and you are bumping with some of the most dangerous drivers in the country. You have to dodge oncoming traffic and all the terrain and bumps in the road that coming along with these dangerous highways.

Release Date: November 15, 2011

That is just my summary of the game, but to get an unbiased explanation of the game go here.

Or....

Forza Motorsport 4 is coming out with their 4th game in this popular Forza series. With over 500 life like cars from 80 different manufactures to choose from and many real life tracks like Hockenheimring and Infineon, the game has a sense of realism to it.

Again, for a more unbiased explanation of this game go here.
Release Date: October 11, 2011

Winner: Forza 4

Plain and simple, I like real. I haven't owned a Need for Speed game in a while, but have managed to play a few, and they just seem the like same thing over and over again. You race on some crazy roads with some really unique cars, but I haven't found a keeper in the bunch. Forza 4 delivers the real factor for me. Whether I'm racing a Range Rover around the Top Gear test track or drifting a Lamborghini Murciélago around Infineon, it will just feel realer. While street racing is amazing in it's own right, laying down a track record lap on a real life track is just more interesting. I love racing for a goal and in Forza 4, the goal is to buy the best cars and keep upgrading them.

The same debate can be made for many other games:

NBA 2K12
vs
NBA Jam: On Fire Edition

Winner: NBA 2k12

Hands down, the best game for delivering a real life experience has to be NBA 2k12. NBA Jam is a good game in it's own right, but in reality if I only had $60 to spend, I would be going for the realer game in a heartbeat.

MLB 11: The Show
vs
MLB 2K11

Winner: MLB 11: The Show

These two are a bit difference, because unless you own a Playstation and an XBOX you would not be able to witness the competition. I give the edge to The Show just because of the depth of the career mode. It seems more realistic and pays great attention to detail.

Fifa 12
vs
PES 2012

Winner: TBD

The jury is still out on these two, but it's just another great example of sports game and competition. MLB and soccer both have simulation video games competing to be top sellers and both have delivered good representations. In the NBA and racing categories, it seems that it's an arcade versus a simulation game and it's you guys, the gamers, that decide which is more successful.

As gamers, which do you prefer:

1.
Arcade
vs
Simulation

2.
NBA 2K12
vs
NBA Jam: On Fire Edition
vs
Wait for NBA Elite 201?

3.
Forza
vs
Need for Speed
vs
Gran Turismo 5

4.
The Show
vs
MLB 2K12

5. Presidential Election of Racing Games:
Forza 4
vs
Gran Turismo 5
vs
Dirt 3
vs
Need for Speed: The Run
vs

I haven't have the privilege of playing tg5, but I believe it is a playstation only game correct? Is it an above average game? I've seen all sorts of videos and read reviews on the game, but haven't gotten a feel for the game. Something about the gameplay just seems a bit off, but it could definitely be poor users. How would you rate it?

Well it's Definitly not for everybody. It's almost complete sim, not arcade at all. And there's not much custimization in it. Alot of cars but can't do to much to the appearance of em. But u can tweak and mechanical part which is cool. And it takes a loooooooong time to get to the good stuff. You don't see real damage until ur lvl 20 and then full damage at 40. And I played for a couple weeks and still wasn't at 20 lol. But if you can push through there's alot of cool stuff. But without some stuff I'd give it a 8.5 outta 10.

Oh btw I'd say above average but not amazing yet. GT6 could be amazing if they do just a few different things. And yeah it's playstation exclusive.

I dont have a preference of sim vs arcade. As long as the game provides fun factor that is alm that matters.
Forza 4 did not get goid reviews at the most recent gaming show. I enjoy racers but sim racers make too much work of unlocking items such as cars and new tracks.

Some of your matchups are decent but it comes down to taste. 2K vs Jam is odd because some may want both experiences.

The Show vs MLB 2K is hard to compare because The Show is exclusice to one console.
