The A's are taken down by tough right-handed Felix Hernandez who picks up the win for the Mariners.

Oakland got roughed up this afternoon losing handily 8-0 before 35,067 fans. Ben sheets didn't have his best stuff in defeat, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits in 5 and two thirds innings, dropping his record to 0-1. Ryan Sweeney was the "star" for the offense, going 1-for-4 with no RBI, Hey, nobody said he was the bright star!.
