A's Fall Apart Late

The A's and Angels went to extra frames at Angels stadium, with Oakland eventually losing 6-5 in 14 innings. Gio Gonzalez gave up 2 runs on 7 hits over 7 innings, but that did not factor into the decision, though he does get a quality start, his first of the year. Chad Gaudin took the loss in extra has he worked 4 innings giving up the winning run. Kevin Kouzmanoff clubbed a solo homerun and collected 2 other hits in 6 at bats, to lead the way for the offense.
On a low note, Andrew Bailey blew his second save of the season and most likely will lose his role as closer until the team becomes more comfortable with him.

The series resumes with A's ace Ben sheets (0-1, 9.53) taking on Jered Weaver (0-0, 4.50) for the Angels.
