I was happy that my first born was a son. I remember thinking how neat it will be when me and my boy have a catch. Those times came and went, too fast. He is 18 now.
My middle child is a girl. I was glad my wife now had a daughter to share those things I have no understanding of. At 12 she's hitting the teenage years and can be sweet as sugar or a nasty little ______. Thank god for my wife.
My 9 year old and I are best buddies. I will almost always stop what I am doing if he asks me to play with him. Partly because I know those opportunities will end.
I guess my point is if your kid asks you to have a catch and you think your too busy. Well, maybe you should think again.

The joys of fatherhood my little girl and me were like best buds, and since because of my job I spend more time with her. She is totally into sports, I didn't force it on her she was just drawn to sports, when she asks me to pitch to her I can't refuse. Good Stuff.

Mike, you sound like a truly great father and you seem to have a great family too. I hope one day I will be able to have a family. Until then i'll just take notes from you LOL
