Dallas-Star Telegram- You can smell football in the air here in Dallas as nearby North Texas begins the start of a new saga with Coach Patrick Taylor at the helm. The Mean Green's first game is Saturday against the Clemson Tigers. Coming off a 2-10 season they hope to start over new. They bring back most of their starters with Nathan Tune under center and Lance Dunbar at tailback. Experience will hopefully come through for a team looked over in this football hungry state. The fans and students down the road in Denton, Texas are certainly excited about the arrival of Coach Taylor as the spring game was the most attended in the history of the football program. Coach Taylor, the former defensive line coach at the University of Louisville, said this about the season, " This is obviously a rebuilding program but I have alot of trust in our system and the guys that are in it. Nathan has alot of experience and hopefully that will carry over to the offensive side of the ball. The defensive side of the ball is our problem but fall practice worked all the kinks out. I am really excited about this season and hope to suprise." North Texas' game is Saturday at 4 in Clemson, South Carolina and is being aired on ESPN U.
