CELTICS DESTROY THE KNICKS 84-60

Coach Pappy Knuckles tried to keep the mood light following their beating by the hands of the Boston Celtics. "On one hand we got our *** handed to us, on the other hand at least it was by more than two points." The struggling Knicks have now dropped three in a row and are are below .500 for the first time all season. At 5-6, the urgency to win games is visible when talking to Knicks players.

A subdued Rasheed Wallace spent several minutes speaking to reporters. "We played like we had four guys on the court. The Celtics aren't good, we're just pathetic," said Wallace.

The Boston Celtics have now won 9 in a row and have an 11-1 record. It was business as usual in the Garden, as Derek Rose torched the Knicks for 27 points and 8 assists. Vince Carter added 18 points in a game which saw Boston shoot 63% from the field and take 25 free throws. In the 4th quarter they outscored the Knicks 29-12.

"We played smart basketball tonight, the Knicks didn't have anything for us," said Derek Rose to reporters at the press conference. Rafer Alston seemed to have a hard time staying with the rookie throughout the game. Alston chose not to be interviewed.

Following the game, coach Pappy Knuckles stated that Jason Terry would be replacing C.J. Miles in the starting lineup. Although C.J. has done a respectable job, he hopes that Terry's leadership will help the Knicks end their losing ways. Knuckles continues to be pleased with former NC State star, Julius Hodge. Hodge will be getting a lot more playing time during the next several games. There are also rumblings that J.J. Redick could make a return to the rotation sometime in the near future.
