NBA 2k11 or 2k12? New to series, mostly offline franchise play.

I am interested in getting a basketball game, haven't played a sim-type basketball game since the days of N64 and PSX. I read there are a number of things worse in 2k12 and was wondering which is better to get if I just want a nice game of sim basketball. I don't need a difinitive answer but looking through all the threads and finding different bits of info is a little burdensome. Madden 12 or NHL 12

I'm thinking of picking up one of these games. The last game in the series I purchased for both was Madden 10 and NHL 10. I also have NCAA 11. Which game has more to keep me interested? I play mostly offline dynasty but I like to dabble in the online features as well. I like ultimate team which both have.
