BOBCATS ESCAPE WITH A WIN

San Marcos, TX -- Bobcats quarterback Jordan Moore must have been having flashbacks to the loss to the Ragin' Cajuns last year, because he once again threw an interception on the opening drive. He would end the game with 3 interceptions and only one touchdown, but Texas State came through with the win in a different fashion. This time they had to rely on the defense.

The first interception by Moore resulted in a ULL field goal, putting them up 3-0. But Texas State figured out a way to get their guys on the board with a Moore touchdown pass to Demun Mercer. Will Johnson missed the extra point to add to the tension. After Moore's second interception, the Cajuns scored a touchdown on an Alonzo Harris 5 yard run. The score at the half was 10-6 ULL.

The Bobcats finally got their act together as Terrance Franks ran it in for a Texas State score and the lead. But the Cajuns were right in stride with the Bobcats, and tied it with a field goal. Franks matched his touchdown run with another one, making it 20-13 Bobcats. Sealing the deal, Will Johnson kicked a field goal to make it 23-13. ULL scored again but it was too late.

Mercer was the leading receiver with 85 yards, but right behind him was Franks with 82. That's what kind of game this was. Texas State had to scrap for every yard in this one, but fortunately they were on the winning side of it. And this game has made them bowl eligible already. All in all, a good day.
