TULSA RUNS INTO A BUZZSAW; BOBCATS WIN NEW ORLEANS BOWL

Texas State 45, Tulsa 7

New Orleans, LA -- Nobody was going to deny Texas State of this victory. Bobcat nation traveled well and represented with a loud presence as their team defeated Tulsa handily. The Bobcats jumped on top of the Golden Hurricane early and often. In fact, the score was 31-0 Texas State before Tulsa finally got a big play off. It was a 67 yard pass for a touchdown. But that was all they could muster.

Down 45-7 in the 4th quarter, Tulsa had one more chance to save face. But the Texas State defense came up big and got the ball back. Dennis Franchione decided to call off the dogs and milk the clock for the majority of the 4th.

"We proved our point", said Franchione on his decision to take the foot off the pedal for the first time this season. "We could have scored again, maybe twice more, but I wanted to give our guys the opportunity to soak in the experience."

Bobcats offensive coordinator Sean O'Bradovich was asked after the game about his importance to this team.

"I feel very lucky that coach Franchione brought me along for this ride", said O'Bradovich. "I've heard about the tweets and the talk about "my system", but I think we made it look so easy this year that people forget how much of a team game this is. We can't do any of this without each other."

Whether it's O'Bradovich's system, a maturation of Franchione's first recruits, or the stars aligning, none of that matters as far as I'm concerned. The time for enjoying this magical season is now. And right now it's time to party in the Big Easy!
