Lubbock, TX -- Another opponent, another defense caught off guard by the high flying Bobcats pass attack. Texas State got the ball first and scored with relative ease on a touchdown pass to Brandon Smith. When Texas Tech got the ball, they squandered their opportunity and went three-and-out. So the Bobcats turned right around and drove the ball downfield until Terrance Franks ran the ball in from the TX St. 2 yard line. Down 14-0, the Red Raiders must have felt too much pressure because they couldn't get anything going yet again. They punted again to the Bobcats who had a chance to go up 21-0. But quarterback Jordan Moore threw a pick six and made it a game again.
From there, it was a back-and-forth scoring spree and the game was too close for comfort for the Bobcats. In the 4th quarter, they finally got the stop that they needed and answered with another touchdown to make it 38-24. Texas Tech would score again late in the game, but it was too late.
This is a very special win for Texas State as they've rarely started the season 3-0 in their entire history. And to do that against a Power 5 Conference school makes it that much more enjoyable. Right now it's good to be a Bobcat.
