DYNASTY YEAR 1 WEEK 3 - BYE WEEK/RECRUITING

The Bobcats have an early bye week this year, and it is good considering that they'll need as much time possible to prepare for their next opponent, the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Coach Dennis Franchione is cautiously optimistic that his team has a good chance. He feels they can put up some points, but needs to prepare for their vaunted passing attack.

Since there isn't much other news this week, let's update you on the Bobcats recruiting trail as of late. The team will need to fill voids on the defensive line, quarterback, fullback, and punter next year due to players at those positions leaving. As it currently stands, Texas State has already received a commit from a 2-star prospect, fullback Wesley Garner. A 5'11" 234 lb native of Vivian, Louisiana, Garner's biggest strength is in blocking. The Bobcats new scheme employs a lot of I-formation runs, so Garner's talents will serve this team well.

As far as notable players targeted, the Bobcats have their eye on quarterback Ben Barrett - a 3-star prospect, Andy Mason - a hard hitting 3-star caliber safety, and wide receiver Anthony East - an intriguing 4-star prospect that could really make waves for this team in the future.
