Frustrating Loss to Arizona Stuck

PULLMAN, WA - The second week of October, the Cougars hosting the Wildcats of Arizona. It was yet another afternoon of poor play by WSU. The first half in particular, was extremely bad. Jeff Tuel threw 2 picks that each led to a score by Arizona. By the third quarter, WSU's running game began to shine and James Montgomery carried this team to it's first score of the game.
Backup HB Carl Winston also ran a few plays that led to a later TD by our Cougars. Isiah Barton made several huge plays on the second WSU scoring drive, including the 4th and 1 at the 1, which was a back of the end zone catch putting in the second TD of the day for WSU. Even at the end, WR Daniel Blackledge had a hail mary in his hands before a defender hit him hard, knocking the ball out for an incompletion with :40 to go.
Jeff Tuel's turnaround performance in the second half showed he still had something to prove and there maybe more in store as the Cougars head to 4-2 Stanford in Week 8.
