NBA 2K13- Sports Game of The Year?

NBA 2k's games have been dominant as of late. From 2007 on, every NBA 2K game has been solid. Who is competing against them for sports game of the year? FIFA 13 mainly, along side UFC 3, MLB The Show and NHL 13. As we all know FIFA usually dominates as they do have the right to the most realistic sports game out. But this year is different. NBA 2K13 has many strengths that could make it Sports Game of The Year.

1. Realism: FIFA has dominated this category for years. How does NBA 2K13 rank here. Right where FIFA is. NBA 2K13 is the most realistic basketball simulation to date of course, but it may also be one of the most realistic sports simulation ever. FIFA is also the same. It's a yearly thing for them. But 2K has brought a whole new aspect to it. There's much more possibilities when it comes to the different ways to score a basket and get to the rim. They may be two different sports, but FIFA just feels more repetitive than 2K, but soccer is also like that in real life. FIFA wins this category

2. Fun Factor: This race is also tight. It is a debatable aspect. FIFA 13 is extremely fun. It can be fun strategy wise and also just 'street soccer' wise. It goes the same for NBA 2K13. It can be fun strategy wise, but it can also be fun 'isolation basketball' wise. You can spend hours playing both games without getting tired, it's dead even.

3. Sales: There's no question on who wins this one. FIFA hands down. It's been like that for years. They are too big internationally to lose to NBA 2K. Also with soccer being the most famous sport all around the world, it comes to no surprise that it's like that. This category will almost always be won by FIFA.

In the end FIFA will most likely take it again this year, but 2K is improving to a point where it's almost time for them to take over. Depending on the development over the years, who knows. FIFA better keep improving, because it seems that NBA 2K wants that award badly.
