3 reasons Why Robert Griffin III (RG3) will be the best QB in the NFL
Posted on September 11, 2012 at 06:52 PM.
RG3 made a huge statement this past sunday by not only outplaying Drew Brees but by also having a very efficient game. This is a sign of things to come. He was amazing in college and he will be even better in the NFL because of his passing, work ethic, and his athleticism.

It's obvious that at quarterback you need not only throw power but throw accuracy. If you look into it, quarterbacks with running speed tend to have a cannon arm but they also tend to have bad accuracy(I.e Michael Vick, Jay Cutler, Tim Tebow, Donovan Mcnabb, Daunte Culpepper, and Cam Newton just to name a few). The difference is RG3 can actually throw with power and accuracy. In the game against the saints, he started off shaky throwing passes slightly off target but enough for the receivers to catch on a short pass play that they ran over and over again. Then later he became comfortable throwing the ball, when he evaded the rush from the saints and threw a perfect throw to a receiver on the sidelines. The shaky moment was expected because it is his first official NFL season game. His comfort level will grow and so will his passing ability which is already great as we all saw in the game. He stayed relaxed and threaded the needle with pinpoint passes. His throw power and accuracy is great, and his comfort level will only take him to the next level.

Many scouts, critics, and coaches know about RG3's work ethic. His work ethic will do nothing but place him at the top of the QB list in the NFL. Everybody knows the harder you work the better you get. With how good he already is, imagine if he kept working hard on his game. Unless an injury hits him, there's no where but up for him. A great player that improves his play even though he is already a great player will turn him into a legend. We all know Jerry Rice was a great player, but he worked to improve his game even though he was already good. We all know Michael Jordan was great, but he didn't want to be great he wanted to be the best. If RG3 can continue this type of mindset, it's scary to see what he'll do now and in the future

Last but not least is the common knowledge known by everybody about RG3. His athleticism. Experts don't like seeing athletic quarterbacks, but we all know that it is amazing to have one. The combination of passing and athleticism can be lethal. The mentality of RG3 is to be a pocket passer. NOT A SCRAMBLER. If he turns to a pocket passer with great running ability instead of a scrambler with passing ability, which he showed in week 1, he will be the best quarterback in no time. Michael Vick is the player everybody will compare him too, but Michael Vick is a Scrambling QB with passing ability. This is why he threw 4 picks against the browns compared to 0 by RG3 against the Saints. It was nice to see him not try to ruin a passing play by running a lot. Most of his running plays were set running plays. The more he works on his ability to run on a set play, the better him and his team will be. He should want to be known as a player that can pass so well that people almost forget his incredible running ability. That will make his running plays highlight reels.

All in all people will probably still try to say he is not good enough or he needs more time. He is such a good player already that he can make his time right now. This season will be his introduction to being known as the future best QB in the league. With his passing and running ability he will dominate now. With his work ethic he will not only dominate now but also for the next 10+ years. Expect greatness

Honestly don't think it will happen, maybe it could in 10 years. Even when Brady, Brees, P Manning, Vick, Big Ben, Romo and E Manning start to slow down in the next 3 to 4 years. Rodgers, Cutler, Stafford, Bradford, Luck will take there place as the leagues best, RG3 might be a top 10 guy, but i cant see him being no1, maybe if hes lucky eventually top 5!

Problem is Rodgers would probably be slowing as well, Cutler has bad accuracy and get's picked off easily, Stafford, Bradford, and Luck are the only ones who have a chance, but in the end the mindset of RG3 will help him improve more than the others in the next few years. In Chad Johnson's words, child please on all the other quarterbacks lol.

His problem is he dosent have a good OL, Rb or a no 1 WR and a sketchy secondary. Could they fix this in the next 2-3 years sure, but until they add more weapons on O, like a legit RB or OL he will have to resort to running to often, which is the same thing that happened to Vick. People forget Vick was a passer, his WRs would just be open by 30 yards by the touchdown, get hit in the hands and drop the ball consistantly, his only real option was Crumpler, he had some of the worst WRs in the nfl.

I believe Pierre Garcon is developing into a number 1 receiver, it can happen even this year. The running back situation is another development cycle with Alfred Morris being a rookie. The OL played a
average-good game against a good defence in the saints. The Redskins have a good team with RG3. The only thing i'm skeptical about is like you said the secondary. The safety's were fantastic but the cornerbacks were beat a lot of the time but luckily passes were dropped.
