What is EA Sports doing with NBA Live 13?

With NBA 2K13 gaining more fans almost day by day, you have to wonder, what is EA Sports doing? There are many possibilities of what they could be planning, hiding, or holding back. They could have a huge announcement that they're holding back, waiting for 2K to finish with their big announcements, or waiting until last minute to cancel the game(hopefully not). Either way there is a huge problem with all of these strategies.

1. Holding back a huge announcement - Now at first this might seem good with the fact that 2K is releasing their gameplay information now when the release date is about 1 and a half month's away and NBA Live will have big news coming sooner to release date keeping the news fresh on people's minds. The problem is, more gamers are seeing 2K13 earlier and want to play the game. Last second efforts to market the game won't work unless they have commercial's on every single television network(I wouldn't mind). Many new gamers might be looking to buy a basketball sim, and for now can only find NBA 2K13 news and features. Day by day their losing brand new fans and gamers. At least they should show some of the small features now so some of the newer fans know that the game is there.

2. Waiting until last minute to cancel - This is what everybody is scared about and what all the insiders say is not going to happen. EA says their not cancelling the game and it will be released at the latest October 30, when the NBA season starts. There is a possibility that EA doesn't like the game and they don't want to have an experience like the last one(Jesus in NBA Elite 11, we all know this). The backlash from NBA Elite 11 was very hard. Now think about what would happen if they cancelled NBA Live 13. EA Sports would be finished for good, no one would trust them if they ever tried to make another game in the future.

In the end, EA Sports needs to come up with news right now. There running out of time to get any kind of success in NBA Live 13. They're already out of time in some fan's minds. Any information is necessary, it doesn't have to be a cover player, though it would be nice to put that out now, but there needs to be at least a feature in the game released. The clock is ticking on EA and they better hurry before the alarm sounds.

The reason they would cancel later is because they don't want to see the reception of a cancelation. Gamers will be furious

I have to say I'm disappointed in EA. The Live brand seems to be a rudderless ship and they're incapable of bringing it around right. EA has an opportunity to encroach on 2k's market share by building a game with average game play supported by their online infrastructure and existing cross game features (like Ultimate Team).

The only way EA can make any advances is to get the word out and they've failed to this point. EA could be sitting on a major announcement, but we'll never know. They're trust level is already at an all time low. How much further will it fall if they dupe the gaming public with last minute hype and fail to deliver completely?

yea 2k has of late been the better game but we all grew up on live ... an i have allways purchased both games even knowing 2k was the better game ...but it was all good to switch back an forth ... i hope the game comes out ...live 10 was very fun to me an i really liked the crowd an stadium sounds in live 10 an all the espn feel it had ..really dope game i hope it dose drop but i think they should just give the ppl atleast some kind of pics or info that it is coming ...it dosent matter when now or later .

Oh man I remember NBA Street vol 2. CLASSIC! lol and the Nba Live 13 atmosphere is going to be better it always is 2K's crowd has never been very good
