Can't stand how people get the game early
Posted on July 12, 2009 at 12:14 PM.
This is one thing that really irritates me. Like on this site were people are telling all about how they have it early and what they like and what they dislike about it. Im not going to go on about it because i just wish that those who do get games b4 release dates just keep it to themselves because what they may not like about the game and what they say may negatively influence someone into not buying a game and trying it out for themselves. thats all.

Unfortunately, you are in the vast majority. the game gets to retailers as early as Wednesday or the Thursday before the release date. I'd advise you to just not visit the forums between Thursday and the time you get the game, if you really value that jury-duty style ignorance of other people's opinions of the game. It's just a few days and then you'd not have to be so annoyed.

I want to know where they're getting the game at this early in the first place!

Some stores just get the game early and break the street date. They're risking serious fines by doing so, but that's their business.

I don't think it's a big deal. I always try a game for myself anyway. Impressions are good, but ultimately it's going to come down to whether YOU find the game fun to play or not.

The fact is for a lot of people $60 bucks is too much of a risk to "try it out" and find out they don't like it. Not a break the bank and be out on the streets risk, but mainly thinking teens, or people who are like me and are trying to live on a pretty tight budget and only have so much to spend on entertainment. Now I'm going to buy NCAA regardless because despite any flaws, it's one of the games that will entertain me for a whole year (entertainment money well spent) but a lot of games I will read reviews of before I decide whether or not to buy now, or wait till much later when the price has come way down.

As for them getting it early. I'm just jealous.

Don't get me wrong; I don't buy every game that I'm interested in. If I'm on the fence, I definitely rent first. It's silly to buy a $60 game that you may or may not like. The only "must-buys" for me are Madden, NCAA and NHL because football and hockey are my favorite sports and I always enjoy those games.

I agree, $65 is too much for any game, which is why I wait for it to get cheaper online. Buying a game on faith without a review is foolish.
