Oh, what a difference two weeks can make. Since I last gave my thoughts on the Giants, they proved they were for real by smacking down a weak Carolina Panthers team before showing some real struggles in a heartbreaking loss to their divisional rivals. Now, going into a weekend where they should be heavy favorites against arguably the worst team in the league, there are many concerns for New York Giants fans.
First and foremost is the injury report. With Hakeem Nicks already out for a third straight week, and his replacement Ramses Barden out with a concussion, Victor Cruz and Domenik Hixon will be in line for most of Eli Manning’s passes Sunday afternoon. Both players seem up to the task, as Cruz has played well in tough positions all year and Hixon has proven that he is capable of making some truly awesome plays. Reuben Randle, the rookie who has had his work ethic questioned by NBC Commentator Cris Collinsworth as well as Cruz, should get a good opportunity as the third receiver in the game.
The only other concerns on offense are along the Offensive Line. Chris Snee is reported as questionable with a hip injury, something that should be alarming to Giants fans. If he and David Baas (hand) are unable to go Sunday or are far less than 100%, the running game could be very weak and Eli will have to make many passes off of his back foot.
