Madden 10 broke my heart.
Posted on November 30, 2009 at 11:28 PM.
As a fan of the series for the last 21 years, I'm sad to say that I've had enough will no longer support the franchise. After a disgraceful year of Madden 09, I expected a great year for Madden 10. But, again Madden has failed to deliver. And I'm also a little bit angry with GameInformer for giving this game more credit then they deserve.
I finally traded in this broken game for Call of duty: Modern Wafare 2. I've never traded in any video game for another in my life. What made me do it? How about it being November, and still waiting for the missing features and the so called "patch that's supposed to fix the game play. Not for nothing, but the NFL Season is more than halfway over. I don't want to wait for a final version when the play-offs start. I bought all the max packs and the NFL Legacy pack. In return, I still had a broken game. Enough is enough.
After spending 21 years of my free time playing every Madden from the 1st up until Madden 10, I feel like I've been cheated out of the last 5 years of garbage next gen console Madden play. I'll never experience the glory days like I had in 2003-2005 in a future Madden game again. Reason why is, I'm sick of being EA's sucker for buying a half assed video game. I hope to God another company makes a quality football game. I can careless if it's NFL licensed or not. 2K8 is still the best on the field football game out there. That speaks volumes. EA should be the football juggernaut, SHOULD BE! But there fanbase is declining each year because they just don't know how to make a good football game.
It took me a few years to overcome EA's magic spell. Now that I finally snapped out of it and came to my senses, I'm praying for another company to make the next great football game. Something I can be proud to teach my son how to play when he's old enough to hold the sticks, like my Dad did when Madden came out for the Home computer, and eventually the Sega Genesis.
Until then, I hope the guys at EA realize they ruined a great tradition for hardcore Madden fans. At least the cheesers, and glitchers have something to look forward to every year. And people who don't mind paying $60 for a half finished game. Peace out Madden. It's been real, about 5 years ago.
