O's Muster 1 Run, Fall again 5-1

Oakland, CA The Baltimore Orioles continue struggle with the bats, again failing to secure a victory for Ace Kevin Millwood who went 8 inning to get the complete game loss 5-1 Friday night in Oakland. Millwood gave up 5 runs on only 7 hits but came up on the short end of the stick. It was another dreadful offensive showing for Baltimore.

Adam Jones had the O's only extra base hit, a double in the 1st and would score the O's only run one batter later as Matt Wieters singled him home. It was all the O's would get against Oakland stater Justin Duchscherer who went 8 strong innings allowing 7 hits and only 1 earned run to score. He picked up his first win of the season.

Millwood was looking good for the first 5 frames. Not allowing a run until the 6th and 7th innings when Jake Fox homered to left in the 6th inning followed by a Travis Buck hit a 3 run home run to right in the 7th. It would be more than enough as the O's just couldn't find the crucial hit when the needed them. It is the 5th loss in a row for Baltimore.

The 3rd game series gets underway Saturday after noon with Jeremy Gutherie taking the bump against Brett Anderson.
