What a month it's been! It all started when I decided that Dontrell Willis' pitching motion was to long and it kept me from being as accurate in hitting the mark as I needed to be. I went to go edit his motion (Thank You SCEA) looking for Roger Clemens' motion. (Say what you will about roids I'm 27 he was dominant growing up) Well it wasn't there so I settled on generic 18. Then I though about who else was a dominate RHP I watched growing up. Pedro Martinez. So I changed my glove color from black to blue. Small nod to two of the best RHP I had the pleasure of watching a a kid and young adult. The results you ask? In my last 7 starts I'm 4-0! Yeah! It's to the point that each time I pitch Rex mentions that I won't be at AAA to much longer.
With only 4 pictures where to start? Well I had to pitch against the Pawsox in my 17th trip to the hill this season. This is the game that started the turn around. I was able to go 6 innings, scattering 7 hits and only giving up 1 run. We lost this game 3-2 but I didn't take the loss and was able to put up some good numbers.
My 18th start was rough. 6 innings, 8 hits, 4 Earned Runs. It was rougher than the last but I still felt like I pitched a really strong game. I had to pitch out of a few sticky situations and if not for a 3 run home run who knows how this one goes. Again we fall 8-4.
Here we go off the schnide. We played the Indians and I only went 5 innings but more importantly I got a win! It felt good to be above .500 again on the season. The line wasn't anything spectacular. 8 hits, 3ER, but I struck out 4 and walked one. Not good not great, but good enough for the win and it was only the beginning of what was to come.
7th Win
Start number 20 was against Columbus and this one was another rough outing but the result was positive. Win number 8 on the year. I threw 105 pitches and got touched up a lot in this one. 11 hits and 4 ER. I was frustrated this outing, but I was also getting a lot of run support in this one. My guys scored 9 runs in support of me. This was the second start where I got some run support, it's nice when I can struggle and still get some pick-me up from the guys behind me.
8th on the season
My next start was the beginning of me getting into a really good run of starts. While I would take a ND in this game. It was a really strong start this game. I only gave up 1 ER in 6 innings, but the Louisville team was really into this game and they handled the hot bats that the Sky Chiefs brought into the game. We lost this one 5-2. I didn't take the loss though as the bullpen gave up 4 ER's in relief. (No picture as I've got 2 more games to give you guys.
This next start was a really fun one. I went 8 innings. This was a really nice game. I got some help from Gradpa time Ken Griffey Jr in center and I also was able to help myself with the bat in this one. I drove in 2 runs and only gave up 1 run. This was also the game that I thought that I could finish but I never even came out of the dugout in the 9th. That is the only frustrating thing I'm experiencing thus far. In the late innings there is a real quick hook for the pitchers.
