In both of their Superbowl runs, this is the week that the Giants’ run started.
It would be a run that would feel all too familiar. The Giants are 8-6 and as of right now, are out of the playoffs. Although, would it surprise anyone if the Giants won their final two games and finally looked like the team they were in October?
However, there are a couple outside factors that are different this year. The Washington Redskins have finally climbed their way from the bottom of the division to be in contention for the final weeks. This is a much better team than years’ past and has won five in a row.
Even Dallas hasn’t melted down in December like we’re accustomed to seeing. Tony Romo has finally played well in December and their team has won three in a row.
The Giants, on the other hand, seem to be the team that is melting down. They have played inconsistent all season, but Eli Manning hasn’t thrown a 300 yard game since October 21 in a win against the Redskins. Victor Cruz has dropped critical passes throughout the season as well.
With two games remaining, the Giants have the toughest schedule out of their NFC divisional foes. Both games against the Ravens and the Eagles are absolutely crucial.
It’s time for the Giants to finally come in sync. This team looked great in October, but is now on the brink of elimination.
This team needs a win.
