Who needs a win the most in Week 13?
Posted on November 30, 2012 at 03:16 PM.

Brendan - Green Bay Packers

There’s no shame in losing to an opponent who may also be headed to the playoffs. There is a little bit of shame in just not showing up after the first quarter to a nationally televised game. The Packers couldn’t get anything going against the Giants on Sunday night football after their opening touchdown.

The Packers get a chance to rebound against their rival Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are coming off a tough loss against the Bears and will be looking to keep their playoff hopes alive as well, but have struggled of late doing anything on offense with anyone other than Adrian Peterson. It looks like Percy Harvin will be a no-go again this week, further hurting the Vikings cause.

Green Bay isn’t without their own injuries and issues. They can’t protect Aaron Rodgers. They can’t get any pressure on opposing quarterbacks. That’s not exactly the recipe for success.

However, the Packers still have Aaron Rodgers and their ridiculous weapons for him to throw the ball to. If the Packers want to win, they are going to have to give Rodgers enough time to spread the ball around to all the different receivers he has it his disposal. With the lack of a running game and the return of Greg Jennings, I’d also expect to see more Randall Cobb in the backfield just to keep his talents on the field.

Matt – Washington Redskins

Sitting at 3-6, Mike Shanahan’s post game comments after a loss to the Carolina Panthers were taken as the Redskins were throwing in the towel.

“When you lose a game like that, now you’re playing to see who obviously is going to be on your football team for years to come,” Shanahan said.

Robert Griffin III is that man.

Since Shanahan’s post game quotes, the Redskins have won two in a row in large part because of Griffin’s play. At halftime of Thanksgiving’s game against the Cowboys, RG3 had gone 25-29 for 408 yards and 7 touchdowns in his last six quarters. With play like that, Redskins fans haven’t abandoned their playoff hopes yet.

However if the Redskins are a potential playoff team, they must have a win over the division leading Giants.

The last time these two teams met, the Giants won 27-23 due to Eli Manning’s late game heroics. The Redskins can’t afford to give up a lead this time around. Their playoff hopes depend on it.
