Buy or Sell: Which of the undefeated teams will remain strong? Stuck
Posted on October 4, 2012 at 10:30 AM.

As the first quarter of the NFL season closes, three undefeated teams remain.

Going undefeated is an extremely rare feet, but how do the Texans, Cardinals, and the Falcons match up with some of the best teams in the league? We’ve seen crashes from undefeated teams like the Buffalo Bills last year and the Denver Broncos in 2009.

Here’s a look at which teams will most likely remain strong throughout the course of the season.

Houston Texans

Current Outlook:

The Houston Texans look like the best team in the NFL bar none. Wade Phillips has transformed their defense to one of, if not the best, defense in the league. Combine that with a balanced rushing attack, Matt Schaub, and Andre Johnson, the Texans could be representing the AFC in February.

Will they hold up?

It’s hard to imagine them at least not winning the division. They have benefitted so far with an easier schedule. Their toughest opponent so far, the Denver Broncos, almost pulled off the comeback. However, Houston demonstrated a good quality in being able to be disciplined enough not to blow the lead.

Buy or Sell: The Houston Texans will make the playoffs.

Buy.

Atlanta Falcons

Current Outlook:

Matt Ryan is playing like an MVP so far. Under Ryan, the Falcons might have one of the best offenses in the NFL. Roddy White and Julio Jones have been unstoppable as well. They are notably improved on defense.

Will they hold up?

Every team in the NFC South appears to be inconsistent besides the Falcons. The big question for them though is whether or not they can win a playoff game. If Ryan’s play continues, I believe they finally can get over the hump.
Buy or Sell: The Atlanta Falcons will make the playoffs.

Read above. Buy.

Arizona Cardinals

Current Outlook:

By far and away, the most surprising team so far this season. The Cardinals are the first team since 1941 to be 4-0 without putting up 300 yards of offense, according to ESPN. Although what they lack on offense, they make up for in defense. The Cardinals have a solid back field and a great pass rush.

They’ve really come together to beat some good teams like the Eagles and the Patriots.

Will they hold up?

As much as I would like them to, it’s hard seeing the Cardinals not fall to the 49ers for the divisional title. All of a sudden the NFC West is a very competitive division.

The Cardinals are great on defense, but their offense is a huge question mark. Kolb has played well, but their running game has been nonexistent. If there is something promising in their offense, it’s that Kolb is starting to find his rhythm with his core of wideouts.

Thursday’s game against St. Louis feels exactly like a trap game. On the road and a short week, an underrated Rams team could very well upset the Cardinals.

If they lose, the question becomes: will it be the start of an unraveling or will it be the exception?

Buy or Sell: The Cardinals will make the playoffs.

Buy, but as a wildcard team.

What do you think about these three teams? Will they all make the playoffs? Let us know in the replies.
