Younginer Struggles, Sea Dogs Lose
Erie,PA-
-In his 2nd start, Madison Younginer struggled with his control throwing way more balls than strikes as all day long he struggled with the command of his curveball and even his fastball as the Sea Dogs fell to the Erie Sea Wolves 4-2. Younginer didn't take the loss as he only allowed 1 run on 10 hits and he lasted 6 1/3 innings. Controlling his pitches has been a problem in the late innings in both of his starts as into the sixth inning he had pitched a scoreless game, but then, his control slipped away. "It's something that we have to work with him on as he progresses more this year. We have to get him to go farther than five or six innings." said Sea Dogs manager Kevin Boles.

Portland, ME-
-The Portland Sea Dogs were out hit by the Bowie Baysox but not outscored, not even close as Portland beat up on the AA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles 11-0 in front of a fairly big Sunday crowd at Hadlock Field.
-Madison Younginer, just called up from single A, made the start worthwhile by pitching 6 2/3 innings of shutout baseball with 2 strikeouts and a walk. While Younginer's stuff was not overpowering by any means, as he gave up 11 hits, it was still good enough to keep Bowie off the board and notch him his first victory as a starter(2-0).
-The Sea Dogs have Monday off and return to action to start a 3 game set against the Erie Sea Wolves in Erie, the start of a six game trip to Erie and Akron with Madison Younginer getting his second start Saturday in Akron.
Boston,MA- The Boston Red Sox today announced that they have moved right hander Madison Younginer from A to Double-A Portland. Younginer, a 6'4 195 pounder was acquired by the Red Sox in the 2009 MLB Draft. He boasts a low 90s 4 seamer a late breaking 12-6 curveball and a changeup which will be a main focus of his development. Sea Dogs skipper Kevin Boles has penciled the 20 year old righty into the rotation with his first start coming tonight against Bowie at home in Hadlock Field.

Kanata, On-
The Buffalo Sabres were locked in a back and forth battle to start their 40th season against Ottawa. Taking a 2-0 lead in the first period only to see Ottawa come back with 3 straight goals of their own. Buffalo's Tyler Ennis tied the game late in the 3rd to force an overtime period, but it was Ennis who would ultimately cost Buffalo the game when he tripped up Jason Spezza on a breakaway, giving Spezza the ability to score on the penalty shot finishing off the victory to open the season.
Next up, the Sabres(0-0-1) open up their home schedule against the New York Rangers who open up their 2010-11 schedule.
Milkbone's Buffalo Sabres Dynasty
With New GM Jerome Jarmusz II taking the reigns from Darcy Reiger, Ryan Miller(above) and the Buffalo Sabres look to build upon the success of 2009-10, a year which saw them win the Northeast division crown only to fall in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal to division rival Boston. New additions to the team include veteran forward Rob Neidermayer and defensemen Jordan Leopold and Shaone Morrisonn. Also the Sabres should look for some production from rookie Tyler Ennis, who had a strong finish to 2009-10 in the playoff round. A potential 2nd straight Calder winner for Buffalo will play in his first full NHL season. As for the previous Calder winner, Tyler Myers, this will be a season to test if he is the real deal and try to build on his great rookie campaign from a year ago.
The Sabres rely heavily on a defensive style of play but also hope for some offensive production out of their blue liners. But most importantly for the Sabres, they rely even heavier on Vezina trophy winning goaltender Ryan Miller who had a stellar year in 2009-10 and looks to be in good shape to build upon his success in 2010-11.

Rebuilding the Buffalo Bills
"A very solid, all around effort tonight. That's how you win games. That's what a team is. We played well. We welcomed them into our building and sent them packing." Bills coach Chan Gailey said of the big 31-6 pounding on the Patriots.
Up next for Buffalo is the Washington Redskins(1-0) in Maryland.
Week 1 RecapOrchard Park, NY- The 2011 NFL season got off to a quick start for the Buffalo Bills. The worst team in the NFL a year ago opened the season against the best a year ago in convincing fashion. With a 31-6 blowout of the New England Patriots, the long losing skid to the "Pats" is now history. The Buffalo Bills worked the ball effectively through the air with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing 4 touchdowns while the Bills defense held his counterpart Tom Brady to none.

REBUILDING THE BUFFALO BILLS
Orchard Park, NY- For the Buffalo Bills 2010 was a season to forget. A dismal 3-13 campaign landed the Bills the first overall pick in the 2011 draft. The Bills used the pick on Penn State QB Alex Office, who at a small 5'9 but also a big 220 pound frame, should be able to show his pocket presence but also be able to duck out of the way of oncoming pass rushers. Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey is unsure if Office will be the teams starting quarterback come September. "It's just one of those things where you have to let it play itself out. We'll let them[Ryan Fitzpatrick] do battle and we'll determine who is the better fit for this offense" Gailey said after the teams' final walkthrough of the preseason. Ryan Fitzpatrick is seemingly the top choice for this season, giving Alex Office an opportunity for understudying the man they call "Fitz". Fitzpatrick had himself a decent 2010 throwing for 15 TD's and 2834 yards, however his 18 interceptions were a blemish to his campaign.Whoever it may be who gets the starting nod when the Bills open up the 2011 season at home against the defending AFC Champion New England Patriots on Thursday night, will have their hands full of Patriots pass rushers.
