WEEKLY RECAP
A tough week for the Hawks. Not just because of the results, but also because of the influence that this week could carry on further. The Hawks lost two first-liners, two Patricks. Kane is out for 8 weeks with a bruised sternum, whilst Sharp will be back after 3 weeks because of his pulled groin. A very tough break, and it undoubtedly cost the Hawks points this week. But this also gives a chance for the younger players to step up and make big plays. Christopher DiDomenico, Rob Klinkhammer and Jeremy Morin have been utilized in the roster already. It should be an interesting couple of weeks just because of the youth that has flown in the team because of the injuries. Nevertheless, the loss of Kane and Sharp has hit the team hard.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Despite the injury, Patrick Kane becomes the player of the week this time. During the first three games (He got injured in the third game of the week) he earned 4 points(3 goals and 1 assist). He played very well up to this point, and that just makes losing him for 8 weeks that much more devastating.

6. Pirates 5-10 5.0
Weekly recap.
A solid week for the Cubbies, two nice wins and now it's a tie with the Cardinals for the first place in the NL Central. The Cubs have taken the lead in the league in HR with 19 (in 15 games!) and slugging with .633. A nice credit to the power hitters, but the problem is getting hits without home-runs. Up until now it's worked, but as the season progresses, it won't be enough. The Cubs are throughly average with 53 hits (15th in the league). Not much to be said about pitching. Hill and Dempster took their wins in non-spectacular fashion.
Cub of the week.
Alfonso Soriano has taken the first place in HR in the league with the game winning HR at San Diego. He has 6 in 15 games and is undoubtedly going to be looking for more, and, perhaps a chance to attend the Home Run Derby in July.

SEASON PREVIEW
As the 1999 season is just a couple of days away,it is the last possible time to make predictions about the upcoming season. Mika Hakkinen enters the 1999 as the reigning champ and has more than just a slender chance to become a two-time world champion. He's the favourite and he is undoubtedly aware of it. His main competitors are thought to be his team-mate David Coulthard and Ferrari's Michael Schumacher. They are both hungry for a championship trophy and you can be sure that it is going to be a battle for supremacy between the drivers.

Rookie scouting report:
Nr.14: Pedro de la Rosa
At the age of 28, de la Rosa is older than most rookies of the sport. But his attitude and hunger are his main assets and, becoming a champion in numerous Formula Ford, Formula Renault and F3 championships, he is the highest rated rookie in this season and Arrows will be looking forward to every point he can deliver.
Nr.16: Mike Iceshore
A Latvian native, the 22-year old hotshot has achieved moderate success during his very, very short F3 career. He started his first British F3 season last year and ended up fourth, behind three Brazilian futures: Enrique Bernoldi, Luciano Burti and Mario Haberfeld. He finished on podium 5 times, no wins however. But he also finished in points with incredible consitency and that is most likely why hhe secured a test drive and a spot on the Prost team.
Nr.21: Marc Gene
The 25-year old Spaniard has had a tough career for a Formula driver. He has had good seasons in lots of different competitions, best being a win and a couple of podiums, which ranked him 5th in Formula Ford, but those have always been compensated with couple of pointless and poor seasons. He has arrived in F1 with the help of the immensely desperate Minardi team, and he has a chance to really show what he can do. It may be his only chance, however; No other team has really looked into him and if he doesn't shine, it will be unlikely for him to remain in F1 next season.
Nr.23: Ricardo Zonta
A talented brazilian rookie, no doubt. Winning FIA GT in itself is quite the accomplishment. And he has plenty to go with it. But one problem with the possibility of his future career in the F1 is his quiet temper. It has been speculated that he is just a doorpad for BAR Team director Craig Pollock and his Number 1 driver Jacques Villeneuve to wipe their feet on. Whatever that means. We'll just have to wait and se. There are many possibilities of how his career could turn out.

*A draft pick. That's why he has such a strange name for a Latvian.

It's the time of the year when I (Mike Iceshore) go to take on the best of 99 to 02 seasons of the F1. Not started yet, but will be soon.
My 2nd season with the Orlando Magic. Won the title in my first season, but the 2nd season was a struggle for a long time until a 14-game W streak. 16-4 in last twenty, too. Record up until now: 38-37.
A Chicago Cubs dynasty. I intend to play many seasons, so up to now it's 9-5 out of 56 in the first season(3 inning games). Zambrano is 0-3
A PC Dynasty, just like all the others. I'm in season 1 with the Chicago Bears, completed the regular season with a record of 9-7 in the first place in NFC North and going up against the Rams in the Divisional playoffs.
My first dynasty, expect to get some recaps soon! I'm on my second season with my beloved Blackhawks and I am 3-1-1-0 up to this point. Stay tuned!
