FORTNIGHT RECAP

Solid 2 weeks to begin the NHL season, particularly comparing to the pre-lockout season (1-4-0-0). 3-2-0 to begin the season, and, if the offensive production keeps on at the same level as it is now, we can look forward to a great season. For the first 4 games the Hawks really looked like contenders, and only a slip-up in the 5th game by our Nr.1 goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, letting in 6 goals in 1 and a half periods prevented the Blackhawks to have a shot of winning. But it's no biggie, every goalie has a bad night, and if he plays like in first 4 games, there shouldn't be a problem. And there is also safety in knowledge that the back-up Jocelyn Thibault is doing as good as ever. So goalies are not the problematic point for the Blackhawks.

PLAYER OF THE FORTNIGHT

Theoren Fleury becomes the player of the fortnight because of his supreme offensive output these two weeks. 5 goals, no assists, but that puts him on top of goal scoring in the league. Gonna need more of that as the season progresses. More goals is never a bad thing.
