GAME RECAP
At the beginning it was an excellent defense and a woeful offense (Rams) going up against a good offense with a somewhat average defense (Bears). The season so far had shown that defense would most likely win the championship(as the slogan implies), but on this day, even the Rams brick wall on defense couldn't cover up the lack of prowess on the offensive side of the ball. 3 turnovers do add up. And this time it was the Bears prevailing as they manage to get to the Conference championship for the 2nd time in three years with a 22-13 win. A huge win against such a tight win, and you have to credit Robbie Gould, because of all the Bears points only 12 came from TD's.
As the Bears enter the conference playoffs they face the Seattle Seahawks and their whooping 14-3-0 record. And it's going to be an uphill battle because of the Seahawks' incredible skill both on offense and defense. But if the Bears can force turnovers(interceptions) with such consistency as at the game vs the Rams, there shouldn't be any problems.
Bear of the game.
Robbie Gould had to use his foot a lot during this game and he scored 10 of the Bears' 22 points. He has become a franchise kicker for the Bears and the management is undoubtedly looking forward to lots of pleasant years with him, since he is only 24. It's a rarity for such a young player to show such a consistency and maturity, particularly at the kicker position.
