Weekly recap.

A solid week for the Cubbies, two nice wins and now it's a tie with the Cardinals for the first place in the NL Central. The Cubs have taken the lead in the league in HR with 19 (in 15 games!) and slugging with .633. A nice credit to the power hitters, but the problem is getting hits without home-runs. Up until now it's worked, but as the season progresses, it won't be enough. The Cubs are throughly average with 53 hits (15th in the league). Not much to be said about pitching. Hill and Dempster took their wins in non-spectacular fashion.

Cub of the week.

Alfonso Soriano has taken the first place in HR in the league with the game winning HR at San Diego. He has 6 in 15 games and is undoubtedly going to be looking for more, and, perhaps a chance to attend the Home Run Derby in July.
