Salernitana Promoted to Serie A

Well, I finished my first FIFA 09 Manager Mode season today less than a week before I bought it (a bit too early I'd say) and I got the Purist Achievment, meaning I didn't sim any games.

It was a fun season for me and I look forward to playing my 2nd Season as head coach of Salernitana. I was promoted to Serie A after finishing third. It was a tight race but I was able to get the job done. My last 3-4 games on my schedule were against very weak teams and that helped me incredibly.

During this season, I learned a lot about my players and I enjoyed balancing everyone's playing time and making sure no one got too tired. I used all 3 substitutions every game I played and made sure that some of the usual reserve players at least got a bit of playing time. I played everybody at least a bit except some 37 year old defender who I sold away a couple weeks before the year ended. It was a realistic season as well, I wasn't dominating the league and I had more fun than I thought I would have. I play on Proffesional, although I have played like 5 games on World Class. I am trying to get good enough to play on World Class difficulty, but that may take some time.

I am excited to begin my first season in Serie A. I renewed a lot of my players' contracts and am bringing back the same players for the most part. I will continue adjusting my formation to the sucess of my offense. I have 4 offensive players, all of whom have great potential or have already reached their potential (ex: Arturo Di Napoli who has already won a scoring title).

I also plan to use better the Transfer Market. Last year, I only saw players in Serie B available for buy/loan. I was able to loan one guy, but my offer to buy a player was refused. I was able to sell 3 guys (Fava, Cunha (a guy I scouted), and the 37 year old dude I told you about earlier). I just now realized that you could search and see players from different leagues. I have saved up enough money to buy a semi-decent player like Joe Cole. He is an attacker as well so I may go ahead and snag him. I'm not sure yet, we'll see how the season goes. I may just spend a bunch of money on stadium upgrades, or scouting. Actually, I might send my scouts to find players, I will sign the players and sell them. That'd make me some quick cash!

Anyways, hopefully I can win Serie A (doubtful). I do hope to be good enough to compete in the Champions League in the following year. Anybody know how many years of Manager Mode there can be? Last year was 15 years, but I know Be a Pro this year is a maximum of 4 years. Anybody know?
