The game started out as any other game between two divisional rivals. It was heated and a bruiser of a game. Carolina opened scoring with a field goal. Carolina's defense once again proved key in their win against the Saints. The defense managed a first half shutout that included two stops at their own 40 yard line. The third quarter brought a shift in momentum as a 34 yard touchdown pass brought the Saints right back into the game. Carolina went three and out on consecutive drives. New Orleans looked set to take the lead until NaVarro Bowman forced and recovered a fumble while New Orleans was in the red zone. Carolina scored a touchdown on their next drive and took all the momentum away from New Orleans. Bowman once again forced a fumble on the next drive however Arian Foster was able to recover, only for the defense to stop them. Carolina finished the game with a touchdown, and another stop on New Orleans.
