In the Georgia Dome, RGIII burned Carolina's defense with his legs. This game the Panthers were determined not to let it happen again. Before the game, Coach Rivera had decided to start Russell Wilson ahead of Tim Tebow. Russell Wilson certainly wasn't 100% but his team helped him out to deliver a huge blow to the Falcons playoff hopes.

Carolina signed Luke Stocker after Ed Dickson injury, he will miss 8 weeks.
Matt Cassell led the Cheifs out onto the field, not ready to beat the Panther defense. The new gameplan seems to be working great. Kansas City was held to a low 29 yard passing game. Panthers' fans are eagerly awaiting Russell Wilson's return next week. This was Tim Tebow's chance to try and produce an argument as to why he should start over the rookie. Tebow certainly did just that with both passing and rushing touchdowns. With Wilson questionable next week, it's unclear whether Coach Rivera will start Tebow or Wilson.
MVP: Tim Tebow 73% completion for 245 yards and 3 total touchdowns

NaVarro Bowman placed on IR
Kyle Arrington placed on IR
Signed DJ Smith from free agency
Signed Antwaun Molden from free agency
Carolina was ready for a Monday Night matchup against the Eagles. They opened up with a field goal and the next kickoff a crazy fumble from DeSean Jackson into the end zone gave Carolina two points for a safety. The Panthers played well on defense once again, allowing just a field goal the entire game. Tim Tebow played a good game, but threw yet another interception.

Another divisional rivalry with both teams struggling to perform. Panthers coach Ron Rivera gave the pregame speech of his life. This was the turning point of the season. Another game like the last two and they would be set for a downhill spiral, crash and burn. The Panthers were able to establish a running game early on, with both Tim Tebow and Jamaal Charles gaining decent yardage. The defense was putting relentless pressure on quarterback Josh McCown to disrupt Tampa Bay's passing game. The Panthers were hitting on all cylinders. It was the type of performance even George Wendt would be proud of. It took the Buccs until the fourth quarter to get any points. With Bowman out, Defensive Coordinator Sean McDermott centered the defensive gameplan around safeties LaRon Landry and Kam Chancellor. It worked out tremendously. It was defensive and offensive domination from start to finish. Panthers fans were left happy and ready for next week! Carolina has not been more on fire than right now. An unprecedented turnaround from last week.

Coming into this game, the fans were hoping to see a comeback after that horrible game last week where the defense didn't even record a sack. The attendance dropped partially due to the loss, but also because the Panthers were playing the Broncos, who had the worst record in the league at 2-6. The game was a slow defensive battle from the start. Very unappealing to the viewing audience, with lots of three and outs and botched running plays. In fact, slightly less than half of the stadium had emptied by the fourth quarter. The Panthers were not playing any better than they had against Washington the previous week. Sure the defense was better, but offensively nothing was getting done. To make matters worse, the foundation of the defense, NaVarro Bowman was carted off the field due to a torn Pectoral Muscle and will miss the remainder of the season and LaRon Landry left with a Hip Pointer. He is probable for next week against Tampa Bay. A late drive from the Panthers offense which led to a field goal, saving them from an embarrassing overtime performance against the NFL's worst team at their own house. Right now with the team so down in form, the playoffs went from a "for sure" thing to a "questionable". On the bright side, Skip Bayless thought Tebow played great.

Washington came out onto the field filled with confidence in front of their home crowd at FedEx Field. It showed from kickoff. Washington came out to a shock 21-0 lead on Carolina with 4:58 left in the second quarter. The Panthers did their best to respond but went into the tunnel at half time down 10-21. Since Carolina received the second half kickoff, hopes were high that if Carolina were able to score and make it a four point contest, that the momentum would shift and the Panthers might complete the comeback. Washington had other ideas, intercepting Tebow in the end zone as has happened before. The defense held their ground though and forced a Washington punt. The Panthers were soon faced with a third and long. Tebow found Ted Ginn jr. in open field, but Ginn dropped the pass. The drop was Ginn's 12th of the season. Coach Ron Rivera swapped Early Doucet and Ted Ginn in the depth chart. Washington scored 10 points to make it nearly impossible to comeback now. Carolina drove down the field only for Jamaal Charles to fail on a fourth and 1. The defense forced another Redskins punt and the Panthers scored off of a Tebow to Ed Dickson touchdown pass. The Panthers opted for the onside kick and recovered! Tebow got another touchdown pass, this time to Jamaal Charles. They couldn't recover the next onside kick and Washington kneeled out the game.
MVP: Ed Dickson 8 catches for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns

This was the most anticipated game of the week. Carolina's #1 ranked defense versus Chicago's #1 ranked offense. This was the biggest task for the defense that they have seen. Cam Newton, Calvin Johnson, Michael Bush, Robert Meachem and Owen Daniels are all part of Chicago's offensive weapons. At half, Carolina led 7-0 after a 2 yard touchdown run from Tim Tebow during the first quarter. The second half Chicago scored 10 consecutive points,. Cam Newton stepped up his game tremendously. The Panthers got the ball back with 2:08 left in the fourth quarter on their own 17 yard line after the kickoff. Three straight incomplete passes led to fourth down with 1:48 left on the clock. The Panthers elected to go for it. Tebow found Brandon Marshall on a deep route for 17 yards. Then Tebow found Eric Decker on a hook for 8 more yards. Tebow threw to DJ WIlliams on another third down to get the first and after a broken tackle, Williams got 28 yards. He found Ed Dickson for 25 yards down the middle to put Carolina in field goal range. Another imcomplete pass after Ginn dropped the ball on the 6 yard line and an overthrown ball to a wide open DJ Williams on the goal line saw Carolina facing third down. Tebow found fullback Beau Hillyer in the back left corner of the end zone. TOUCHDOWN with only 14 seconds remaining. Carolina escaped the Bears at Soldier Field!

This week brought a lot of mystery to the Panthers organization. Nobody knew how they would do without Arrington and Wilson. Tim Tebow had a lot of doubters coming into this game. Dallas has by far the worst O-line that the Panthers have had to play so far this year. The Panthers recorded 9 sacks along with 5 hurries and 3 knockdowns. New York couldn't scrape up any points until the fourth quarter when Eli Manning threw to Anquan Boldin on 3rd and 21 from the 5 yard line. Kam Chancellor and LaDarius Webb collided leaving open field for Boldin to run and he went 88 yards for the touchdown. Tebow led Carolina down the field to score on he next drive. Dallas then returned the kickoff for a touchdown. After a failed onside attempt from the Cowboys, Carolina kneeled out the game.

Atlanta had found a way to shut down Carolina's rushing game and held them to no first quarter points. Atlanta, however, was rushing through Carolina's defense with ease in the first half with quarterback Robert Griffin making Carolina linebackers nervous with his rushing ability. He had a 9 yard touchdown run to open up scoring. Russell Wilson had answer with a touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall to equalize the game before half. During the second half Carolina still struggled to stop the Atlanta rushing game and Robert Griffin scored another touchdown run. With Jamaal Charles' inability to produce solid runs, Carolina were forced to drop the running game and air it out the remainder of the game. A touchdown pass to Early Doucet tied up the game again only for Robert Griffin to run for a third touchdown. Carolina now had only 1:34 left on the clock. It was time for Russell Wilson to earn the money and he did. He drove the team down the field and found Ed Dickson open on a slant route and he ran it in for the score. The only problem was that Carolina left 42 seconds left, and the way the Falcons had played so far, the atmosphere in the Georgia Dome was very anxious and they were hoping RGIII could lead a late drive. Carolina came up big and on a Hail Mary to end the game Darius Butler intercepted it in the end zone. The game went into overtime and Falcons started out with the ball, Brooks Reed came up big with a sack and a tackle for loss and RGIII finished the drive with an incomplete pass(originally called a catch for 21 yards, but was reversed after review). Russell Wilson didn't do any better. Two incomplete passes and a sack later, Carolina called on Chas Henry to punt the ball. With the ball back in RGIII's hands, he ran for 18 yards, then threw for 11. The game looked as if Atlanta had surely won the game. On the next play, Atlanta needed just 15 yards to be in field goal range. Jason Witten had escaped coverage from LaDarius Webb, but Javier Arenas moved in and intercepted the ball. On the next drive, Wilson got Ed Dickson on a deep ball. Then Brandon Marshall for 15 yards and Eric Decker for 6 more to put Carolina on the Atlanta 28 yard line. Shaun Suisham sealed the win with a field goal.
MVP: Russell Wilson 16/25 for 283 yards 3 touchdowns and no interceptions

No acquisitions this week.
The game started out as any other game between two divisional rivals. It was heated and a bruiser of a game. Carolina opened scoring with a field goal. Carolina's defense once again proved key in their win against the Saints. The defense managed a first half shutout that included two stops at their own 40 yard line. The third quarter brought a shift in momentum as a 34 yard touchdown pass brought the Saints right back into the game. Carolina went three and out on consecutive drives. New Orleans looked set to take the lead until NaVarro Bowman forced and recovered a fumble while New Orleans was in the red zone. Carolina scored a touchdown on their next drive and took all the momentum away from New Orleans. Bowman once again forced a fumble on the next drive however Arian Foster was able to recover, only for the defense to stop them. Carolina finished the game with a touchdown, and another stop on New Orleans.
MVP: NaVarro Bowman 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble

This week's acquisitions:
Added Kendrick Gholston (LE) from free agency
Dropped Philip Hunt (LE) from roster
Tampa Bay's offensive struggles really cost them the game. Two interceptions in the red zone and a fumble on the opening drive of the fourth quarter and a safety on the next drive turned out to be the difference as Carolina managed 16 points off of these. Tampa Bay overall had an unlucky game, Adrian Peterson went down the third quarter with injury and wasn't able to return.
MVP: Jamaal Charles 15 carries for 104 yards and 3 Touchdowns
