NOTRE DAME -The Irish defense struggled last year. They lost a lot of starters and are very young now. They will be going up against Andrew Luck's replacement Brett Nottingham. -Andrew Hendrix is the starting quarterback with a new weapon at wide receiver in freshman Louis McNeil. Look for them to build a chemistry. -George Atkinson takes over at running back and many believe he could be better than Cierre Wood. STANFORD -The Brett Nottingham era begins. Hes watched Andrew Luck for two years and the Cardinal is hoping that it payed off. -Stanford brings back Stephan Taylor at running back. He seems to be the first option on offense. Run then pass. -The defense is led by Linebacker Chase Thomas. They will need a big year from him.
