Irish ride Floyd for victory
Three touchdowns from Michael Floyd lead Irish to win over BC
BC 21 ND 42

Michael Floyd gives thanks to a higher power after recording his third touchdown of the day.
Saturday's tilt between Notre Dame and Boston College was closer than the score shows. The Eagles came out to South Bend to compete. They would not be rolled over. The first half was tight with each team matching touchdowns in the first and second quarters. Michael Floyd scored on passes from Andrew Hendrix in the first and second quarter. Boston College answered each touchdown to tie it 14-14 at halftime.

Harrison intercepts his 8th pass of the year and returned it for a touchdown.
In the middle of the third quarter, the Eagles were inside the redzone and were threatening to score. A score would take the lead. But Harrison Smith was not having any of that. Smith intercepted Dan Shinskie at the 2 yard line. He returned it 98 yards for the score. "It was the turning point. No doubt. I can't say enough about what Harrison Smith does for this team" said coach Brian Kelly. The defense came up big in the second half. Freshman Aaron Lynch had the best game of his young career recording four sacks. They were able to sack quarterback Dan Shinskie an eye popping 10 times.

Opening the fourth quarter, Hendrix hooked up with Michael Floyd for the third touchdown between the duo. Boston College would match on a big pass play from Shinskie to make it 21-28 Irish. Then stepped in the closer. Jonas Gray took over and scored twice in the last four minutes to close out the game.
Hendrix played well completing 60% of his passes throwing for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hendrix continues to progress and is gaining more confidence with each game. He is getting help from a great ground game in Cierre Wood and Jonas Gray. They both again eclipsed 100 yards on the ground. Next week they play #4 Stanford. It will be the biggest game of the year.
