Down and out
Wolverines pull away in fourth quarter to win rivalry game
ND 10 MICH 20

Tommy Rees turned over the ball four times and was also sacked six times.
It was a long night for Tommy Rees. The Wolverine defense was all over him in the first night game ever at The Big House. They managed to pick him off three times and force him to fumble once as well. The Irish offensive line was unable to protect him, giving up six sacks. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly tried to turn to Cierre Wood on the ground. That was also stopped by Michigan's defense. It was a very impressive effort by the Wolverines holding Irish's run game to a negative 34 yards.

Manti Te'o delivers a big hit on Denard Robinson.
The game started off with flashbacks. Denard Robinson drove the Wolverines right down the field for a quick score in the first minute of the game. The Irish answered quickly with a score of their own making it 7-7 at the end of the first. The second and third quarters were dominated by defense on both sides. This year, the Irish defense did not let Robinson run wild. They held him to negative 4 yards and sacked him six times. Robinson though, is not limited to just his legs.

Denard Robinson threw for 275 yards and a TD.
Michigan's offense caught fire in the fourth on the arm of Denard Robinson. First, he drove them down for a field goal to make it 13-10. Irish got the ball back and started driving. Rees got them into the red zone and then was sacked and fumbled. Robinson scooped up the opportunity and passed his way down the field. Michigan capped it off with a 18 yard touchdown run by Vincent Smith. Irish could not get anything going from then on. This will mostly certainly drop Irish out the top 25, and send Michigan into the top 25.
